I agree with u and the Jesus told the ppl that
Mathew 12:32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Mark 3:29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an ETERNAL sin."

Speaking in tongues can be either from God or the devil.
The gift of tongues given by the Holy Ghost is usually a "prayer tongue" where the recipient of the gift prays or prophesies spontaneously in an ancient language. However, if someone in a room is praying or prophesying in tongues, there will also be another person present who is given the gift of interpreting what is said. If too many people are speaking in tongues at the same time and no one has the interpretation then it may not be from the Holy Ghost.
Sometimes, though rarely, someone is actually given the gift to speak fluently in a foreign language all of a sudden, like the apostles when they received the gift of tongues in the upper room. God gave them the gift of tongues(foreign languages) so that they could go out and evangelize the world after Jesus' death. Each one received the language they would need to preach in the country to which God would send them.
God also gave this gift to the people who were building the Tower of Babel..
I personally know someone that received the Italian language as a gift from God on her birthday. She is Croatian and spoke no Italian at all until God gave her the gift of the language over night. Now she helps kids in Italy get off drugs by teaching them about God's love for them.
Satan can also give us gifts and deceive us. He can also put into peoples hearts to pretend they have the gift of tongues so that they can get adulation from others. The test is if there is a legitimate interpreter present, or if the person begins to show off or act crazy while they are speaking in tongues. With God there is always order, and with Satan there is always chaos.By their fruits you shall know them.

1cor.13; 1,8----"If I speak in the tounges of men and of angels but do not have love, I have become a sounding piece of brass or a clashing cymbal. Love never fails. But whether there are gifts of prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are toungues, they will cease.
Check out 1 Cor 12: 13,30------1Cor 14:5-----------Is there a translater?
1John 4:1------------
In the 1st century the abilitiy to "spesk in tongues" gave impetus to the international work of wittnessing that Jesus had commissioned his followers to do(Acts 1:8 2:1-11; Matt 28: 29 ) Is this how those who "speak in tongues" use that ability?
At 1 cor.13;8 references is made to several miraculouse gifts--verse 9 again referes to these gifts, then in verse 10 it states : "But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away ."
The bible does say how long the gift of tongues would be a part of the christian experience.
According to the record, this gift and the other gifts of the spirit were always conveyed to the persons by the laying on of hands of the apostles and JesusChrist or in their presence.(Acts 2:4, 14, 17, 10: 44-46: 19:6 see also Acts 8: 14-18) So after their death and when the individuals who in that way had recieved the gifts died, the miracaculous gifts resulting from the operation of God,s spirit must have come to their end.
Such a view agrees with the purpose of those gifts as stated at Hebrews 2:2-4.

Depends on the religioin.
Apostilic and other Penticostals believe it is a good and natural thing.
Catholics believe it could potentially be demonic possession that requires an exorcism.
Most other Protestants don't give it much credibility and think it's hocus pocus put on for a show by the Penticosostals or done out of sympathy for the concepts of the religion. Suggestive talking in touges to look like eveyrone else. Peer pressure.

Well, the thing with me is when it's just utter gibberish. The tongues in the Bible were actual REAL languages. They were just languages that the people speaking them didn't know--like if I just started speaking in Portuguese. I don't know word one of Portuguese, but if God touched me and there was somebody from Portugal or Brasil who knew what I was saying then that would be a blessing from the Holy Spirit.
But I can honestly say that some people are making that stuff up and that's not God at all.

First off speaking in tongues does not mean some kind of babbling gibberish that no one understands.
It would be like you only knowing English your whole life and then as the Holy Spirit fills you while your among Mexican friends you begin to prophesy in fluent Spanish.
Paul said that in order for it to be true "speaking in tongues" then there should be someone present who can translate and tell the rest. If no one knows what the speaker is saying then it means nothing.

Read the account of Pentecost when they spoke in tongues the people understood the apostles in their native laanguage. When people now say they are speaking in tongues no one can understand them not even the person doing it so what does it profit anyone?
"All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his OWN language. Utterly amazed, they asked: "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in HIS OWN NATIVE LANGUAGE? "
Acts 2:4-8
Why did God give the apostles the gift of tongues?
So they could witness to others who did not speak the same language, so they could understand the gospel. What does it profit anyone by speaking something no one can understand.
Where do we see people speaking in languages that others cannot understand?
The Tower of Babel
"Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."- God in Genesis 11:7
That was not a gift it was a curse from God.
Some of my family is pentecostal so I do not mean this in a derogatoy way

Christians seem to think that 'Speaking in Tongues' means babbling incoherently. It is actually a kind of induced hysteria.
In the bible, the 'gift of tongues' meant that anyone could understand your speech, no matter what language they spoke. For example, someone who had the 'gift of tongues' could be speaking to a crowd in Greek, and people who DID NOT UNDERSTAND Greek would hear and understand the speaker as if he were speaking in their own language... just like the 'babblefish' in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
Of course, just like the 'babblefish', this is pure horseshit. It was horseshit in biblical times... it is horseshit now.
Get a grip.

I don't believe it's the work of Satan or of God. I think it's a mental affliction that Pentecostal churches pray on. I've been to a Pentecostal church before, and everybody there was speaking in "tongues" but not a damn one was saying what they were speaking. Did you know they actually teach this "language" to the people who go there?

The interesting thing about "speaking in tongues" to me is that the sounds that the person uttering the "tongues" use always come from the speaker's primary language. That's to say, an English speaker will always use sounds from the English language when speaking in tongues. Seems to me that one speaking in the language(s) that angels use to speak to God would use sounds that were foreign to him or her, as even human languages use different phonemes from one another.
And why bring Abraham Lincoln into this?
