I don't have too - I always wear one - its a safety issue!!!

Sure wish I would have worn one when I was in my only accident. On a hwy - truck I was in as a passenger (front seat) went into the other lane and oncoming car slammed into my door.
My door was caved in both sides, but I took my first unscheduled flying lesson - I flew out my door, over the car and 50ft down the road before landing on the road. Lucky for me nobody else hit me in the process. Also luck that my 4 year old son stayed in the truck basically unhurt.
We would have had seat belts on if at that time seat belts had of be installed in all vehicles - they were not in this truck and were not mandatory. This was 30 years ago - thankfully times have changed and the laws are here to protect us.

I did that. The cop saw me putting it on and pulled me over for not wearing one...
The messed up part is that I always wear my seat belt...I was sick and on the phone with my doctors office and late for class...I left my house, was about three blocks away, saw the cop, started to put it on, and got pulled over.
He was a complete a**hole too!

Mine is already on but I think it should be a choice to ware a seat belt or motorcycle helmet. Maybe helmets on the highway because you could get hit and fall and slam into other people. I would think police would want no helmet law because it would be easier to identify someone.

Not me! I always wear it. I should have been killed in a car accident while not wearing a seat belt two years ago, and for some reason, I was not hurt nearly as badly as I should have been. I always wear one now - not tempting fate again.

Not me. I put it on to help me if I get into an accident. Going head on into a semi without a seatbelt will cure you of not wearing it.

Besides - I have to be the example for my kids. I don't want them hurt - and I want to watch them grow up.

I always wear my seatbelt. Also, I wouldn't be typing this if it wasn't a regular habit. I was in a bad crash and I am sure it saved my life. After you wear it for awhile you get used to it. I have friends that are fireman and they all wear their seatbelts too. They have all seen bad wrecks and have deducted that it IS safer to wear it than not.

I don't, I am already wearing it. It's easier than getting a lame ticket from an officer of the Nanny Force.

Being a white male, i dont worry about the police. I just give them a wink, tip my beer bottle to them, and keep on driving
