My mother works a very high stress job and also has tooooons of stress going on at home and here hair has been breakin off for a few months now. She hasn't been to a doctor (even though I have insisted upon it) but I think it's all the stress, is that even possible though?

Stress will cause hair to fall out. It won't cause breakage. You need to determine if the hair is coming out at the root, or breaking off midway. If the hair is actually breaking off, look to harsh shampoos, elastics with metal components, or too much chemical processing.

I think it has nothing to do with it. I think she just doesn't have her priorites straight. Work is tough. Like always, but she needs "me" time as well, you know? Take a girls day out and treat her to a spa or something. She'll apreciate it, and you will too. And...her hair will as well. :) Good luck, sweetie!
