The billing address is where you recieve your statements from your bank. The shipping address is where you want your product shipped to. It can sometimes be a work address, if you know you aren't going to be home. I live in an area where just about everyone has a PO Box so PO Boxes are common billing addresses but Fed-Ex and UPS will not ship to them.
For most people who are getting a delivery at home both addresses will be the same.

Billing address is generally your home address or the place that you receive your bills. You can order something online, but have it shipped anywhere - as a gift for example. If you are using a credit card they need to know the address associated with that credit card.

The billing address is where the credit card that you used to purchase the item is sent. Say you have a business and use the business card (and the bill is sent to your business address) but you want it shipped at home then the billing address would be your business address.
