I am editing a book manuscript in Word 2000. Whenever I close it for the night, then re-open it the next day, it opens at the beginning of the book. How to get it to re-open where I left off? Thanks!!

goto insert menu select bookmark and give it a name (make sure you do this with the cursor in the page which you want to bookmark) and give ok

next day open the file go to insert-->bookmark--> select your bookmark (select goto option) and click ok you're done

tip: give the bookmark name the date when you bookmark it helps remember which is which ok?

You can not make it reopen at the last place. But you can place a bookmark at that spot (Insert > Bookmark) and then the next morning go to the bookmark. Once there, delete it, work, and bookmark the ending point before quiting.
