First off I would like to adress brian l's grunt comment. Infantry are not mere 'grunts'. There is a lot more to our job than meets the eye. closing in on the enemy and destroying them is not an easy mindless job that any fool can do. It takes patience, skill, teamwork, courage, training, and above all else the intelligence required to make all the infantry battle drills and all the warrior tasks in AR 350-1 a subconciously competent way of life on the battlefeild.
Grunt is a term derived from midevil times when army would put their most expendable soldiers to the front of their armys as 'cannon fodder'. They were called grunts because after combat started ussually all they had time to do was grunt before they would fall to the ground dead. Last time I checked, we don't simply grunt when combat starts. We kill the enemy and fight to the death with our last breath being a curse to the enemy instead of a mere grunt.
Now that I'm done ranting and raving. A lawyer in the Air Force would get better chow and probably all the cases described by the individuals above, but I am in the Army so I'm not so sure. My run ins with the air force have been limited to seeing the pilots of the C-130's that take me to the sandbox and back.
The Army 'Lawyers' would get a variety of cases also dependant upon where you are stationed. A training base would get AWOL's and disiplinary cases while my friend who works with the 10th mountain infantry divisions JAG office gets cases ranging from AWOL, fratricide, DWI's, spousal abuse, domestic murder (Soldier coming home from work early mostly), insubordination, even an espionage case on one of our Soldiers.
Now I can tell you on the other hand that 9 out of the 10 cases he deals with make him sad as a clubbed seal because he has to see the darker side of what happens to Soldiers. Especially the ones returning home from a deplkoyment to find that their wife has been cheating on them, they have trouble readjusting to life in the states, ect.
So if you want a cushy job choose the air force. If you want to see the 'ugly' cases go with the Army

My bf is in the Air Force for the last 3 years...It all depends on the person who is going. Air Force is alittle bit more laid back than Army. As most ppl say, Air Force is more like a vacation to some.
I would say if your wanting to be a lawyer....go for the Air Force!

The army will give you more chances to get into high profile cases such as soldiers going postal in Iraq. The air force rarely gets a high profile case unless a fighter jock gets involved in a friendly fire incident. These incidents are rare so most of your time is dealing with awol's DWI's assault's etc, etc, and etc. The disadvantage in the army is you will still have to do the army PT every day just like the other grunts. But you'll likely get into high profile cases with the war pushing more and more grunts over the edge.

I don't suggest anyone join the army for any reason, but that's probably just because I'm in it.
