Yeah, Nike's are horrible for running. I personally prefer Asics, but I hear New Balance is a superb brand. Adidas are equally effective. Good luck in your search.

I'm not sure for running but for walking shoes definitely New Balance. I just bought a pair about three weeks ago, what a difference. My old shoes hurt with every step I took but the New Balance shoes are great, fit like a glove.

Hey Olley,
Read Runners World. Each runner is different! you need to check your foot pattern, your weight, and their charts. Do you pronate or supinate? Don't know, then get a copy of their magazine. This will run down the Brands, and Shoe Names, versus your type and need. Don't take advice unless it is designed for your foot! Running is mechanically difficult for your feet, you need to take the time and research the shoe.

new balance are great.... the higher the number the better the shoe... you'll notice the price goes up also. for example NB 429 are probably around 50 dollars and a NB 906 would probably be $100...

I used to use Mizuno Wave Creations. I have bad knees and they provided me with the support and cushion that I needed. They are a bit pricy, but well worth it.

My running shoes are AirWalk's clog shoes...
