....want to hang around for all eternity with someone worse than Jeffrey Dahmer or Adolf Hitler -- a deity who tortures untold billions of people, not just to death, but forever and ever? Would you really be happy or comfortable in heaven, knowing that those uncountable multitudes -- perhaps even some of your friends and loved ones -- will suffer torment without end, for no other reason than His whim?
And if you WOULD be able to enjoy yourself -- if you're really THAT lacking in compassion or empathy for your fellow human beings -- do you really think you're going to make it into heaven?

Some people here talk about the biblegod offering humanity "a way out of Hell", trying to make it sound like Hell is something beyond his control; it shouldn't take an atheist to remind them that he CREATED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE! And to those who say that it was made to punish the renegade angels, but let me ask you: I originally bought my oven to bake cookies, but would it absolve me of blame if I then roast my child in that oven when he fails to love me and do what I say?

This is a totally valid question - why the thumbs down ratings???
Personally, no, I wouldnt want to spend eternity with this terroristic God. Furthermore, let us not forget that Mr. Dahlmer converted while in prison, accepted Jesus as his saviour, and therefore has been allowed entry into Heaven. So, while youre there without and friends and loved ones...you'll at least be breaking bread with a serial killer...a gay one at that!!!! How do you feel about heaven NOW?

No, I would not want to hang around with someone like Adolf Hitler and I would not call him a deity in any way! And no one wants to hear that a friend or loved one is being torchured for eternity (like I needed to state the obvious)! And if by some misforchune I was not able to bring one of my family members or loved ones with me to heaven than that is their choice. They choose to spend their time burning in hell then so be it! I did my part by making sure that I take anyone and everyone with me to heaven. And it would they would not be suffereing for no other reason than His whim, it would be because they denied Him they chose which path to follow.

Everyone has a choice if they want to believe or not. That's why it grieves us when our family chooses not to believe. I'm going to Heaven, there's no way out of that. I'm committed.
When I DO get to Heaven, I will be too busy worshipping God, that I won't even remember all the people that aren't there.
Eternity is so much longer than even a hundred years on earth. Our life is like a breath. Did you ever have a nightmare when you were a child? Do you still remember it? Does it still make you scared or upset? That's what our lives on earth will be like in eternity...we may have a recollection or like a de ja vu, but we probably won't have an inkling to worry about who isn't there.
I think about my children. One of the reasons God "loaned" them to me is so that I can have an idea of how much God loves me. Or could I give up MY son? God's love is so much bigger than anything I can fathom.

Since you can make your own heaven or hell right here on earth, there is not much point in assuming what either would be, as you can experience them here and now.
You apparently believe in god as person, which I do not.. god is that which runs through all things.. so I live with God everyday.. and see God everyday in all things, in all people. (granted some days it is harder to see than others) I am an empath and a healer, I follow my bliss now, and create my own heaven/hell on a daily basis. Right now it is actually going well. I have no need to make it any different, I am learning the lessons I am intended to learn.. that is what life is all about.

It's religion for crying out loud -- made up stuff to scare people into doing what somebody else wants them to do. It doesn't have to make SENSE! :)
My favorites nonsensical religious rules are the ones in churches that claim if you're not baptized you go to hell. Their rule leaves out the vast majority of the earth's population throughout all it's history from getting to heaven, and current people who die as children, but they love to say that's god's rule. What kind of a god would make up some stupid rule like that? Not one that I'd want to have anything to do with! What's more likely, that god made up a rule like that, guaranteeing 95% of "his children" would never go to heaven and be damned for all eternity...or that it's just made-up fairy tales created by humans? Hmm? :)

I will answer this question one more time...... Yes I will .... and it isnt because of my lack of compassion for people or my friends or loved ones.... they have the same opportunity as I to accept and follow Gods will for their lives and to follow his word... if they choose not to do that ... they condemn themselves to hell... not God.... he provided a way that they dont have to be there... but if they deny it that is their choice.....
If you were in Katrina down in New Orleans.... and you saw people drowing or needing help and you threw them a lifeline.... and they refused it and drowned by their own choice after many attempts to save them....... would you die.... would you not go on living??? Would you leave you family and the loved ones who did choose to live and be saved.... because others chose not to??

My family isn't dumb enough to deny God, so I don't have to worry about them being tortured throughout eternity. Everyone has a choice, and I'm really sorry you've made a bad one, but hey, don't blame us. It's your choice. And yes, I intend to enjoy myself, and I won't be sitting around worrying about you and all the others who made a bad choice. Once you've heard the word and rejected Him, its not really our problem anymore.

Well, Black Sun, I just don't believe in those concepts of heaven and hell... unless it is here on earth. And here, on earth, I am able to enjoy myself, even while I am surrounded by idiots. (and many nice people as wel ;-) )
