Wow, great answers so far huh?

She's most likely (if she's getting an apartment) gong to put down a deposit (usually one month's rent) and rent money for the first month. Apartments range around $900 to $3000 per month for a 2 bedroom (apparently some people think that's inexpensive - see answers above, the cost of living is not cheap unless you're comparing it to New York or LA). If she doesn't have a job then she either needs about 3 months rent ($3000+) + bill money (3 months $1500+) + daily living expenses to bring with her just in case or a little less money (not much less) if she gets a part time job while she's loking. So, in all honesty, I'd say for her to move here she should have at least $6000+ to be comfortable, however, she could come with a little less. Good luck to her!

Your friend will need at least an additional $5000 for the Psychiatrist. Because after a month of living there, she will need her head examined.

$3,000.00 or more. More, for a safety net. $8, 000.00 is what it costs to move, move-in, look for work, eat, emergencies. Ten grand is what I'd need...or more!!!!

STAY WHERE YOU ARE ATLANTA IS ALREADY TOO CROWDED, AND THERE ARE NO JOBS. THE AUTO PLANTS ARE CLOSING AND THE AIRLINES ARE SHUTTING DOWN.
