Will your travel cost decrease by more than $500? Is the time you will save worth $500? Is getting away from your old job worth $500?

If the answer to any of these is yes, you probably should.

I might think long and hard about it. How much are you paying for gas these days? That might be the deciding factor. Plus is the extra 1/2 hour worth the $ to you?

if we are talking about $500 a year...its not worth the hour more drive...you will spend more than that in gas & wear to your car...if its $500 a week or month you would be a fool not to take it

do your calculations....
calcualte your current salary and how you spend for gas, public transportation, groceries etc for a month..then see how you have left...

now calculate the one with 500 dollars less and only 30 minutes away.....do the same caculations and see how much you have left for savings......

compare and decide... good luck

Decide which job you most like and which one pays more. One hour travel isn't that much but if you really can't tolerate it then take the pay cut

Yes. The $500 would have been spent on transportaion expenses anyway. Whatever is best for you, do it.
