I'm having some problems with importing CDs to my Itunes library: ejecting CDs, and slowly loading an imported song which gets stuck and doesn't go anywhere one others. I might have to buy a CD-R that's the best brand to buy, with good quality and least expensive. Any ideas? If Apple can't help me out with my Apple Pro Care class tomorrow, I might have to buy one when I have the money.

I've always had good luck with Sony.

For CD-Rs, I've had the best luck with Sony and Philips. Ricoh is said to make the best CD-Rs, but my experience is limited with them as they are difficult to find in the store.

If you're having problems playing the CD, it could be the drive itself or the way the CD was burnt. Try burning at a slower speed than what the drive is rated for.

Also, for ripping CDs to the hard drive, I suggest using Exact Audio Copy. It rips perfect copies of your music and it's free. The ripping process is a bit slower than other programs, but you're getting a quality rip.

although i burn with DVD-Rs mostly now, I still use CD-Rs for various purposes. you will be alright with just about any brand for the most part but would probably go ahead and recommend a name brand (sony, maxell, etc.) because CD-Rs are REALLY inexpensive now. Make sure, to get a quality burn, burn at a pretty slow speed, like 16x for a CD-R.

If you want to rip CDs, use CDex. I don't use ITunes, I mostly use BitTorrent, LimeWire and SoulSeek.

there is no hard and fast rule for the best, some disc's work better in some drives than others........you need to figure out which one works best for you.
