A previous question got me thinking about this, why is there no mention of Micro-biology in the Bible? If Bible is the word of God, God should know what atoms are, but he neglected to mention this in the Bible. Why is that?

There are many things that you do not mention when you are in a process of gradual teaching.

Since man did not have the means to understand micro-biology at the time, why talk about it? Perhaps in the future, he will explain more, since he does speak of more scrolls being opened in Revelation.

He did give the Hebrews (Jews) laws on sanitation (without explaining the reasons - i.e. microscopic germs), he spoke of the "circle of the earth" (Isaiah 40:22) and "hanging the earth upon nothing" (Job 26:7), and all of this many years before man could verify the truth of those statements. He also speaks of great sea monsters, without going into detail, and describes the Nile crocodile and the hippopotamus

Just like when you teach young children about where babies come from - do you tell really young children the WHOLE truth or just part of it (and I don't mean the stork lies)?

When the children get older - then you give them more details.

God leaves stuff out of the Bible for specific reasons, which many prophecies have talked about the rise of knowledge in mankind in the end days. Knowledge, science, and technology are progressing more and more each day. Back in the Old and New Testament they did not have the knowledge that we know today, which they didn't have the right instruments as well. God didn't fail, He never fails, He leaves stuff out because He knows that we will eventually run into it somewhere down the road. Plus God did not want people to know at that time. God wants us to focus on Jesus Christ and the teaching of Jesus. Because that is our only way for salvation, in the end science is not going to save us. That is why there is a ton of stuff left out from the original Bible. Focus on Jesus, live like Christ, science is just an extra "pleasure" in life.

Because the Bible is primarily about man's relationship with God, not man's relationship with protozoa.

The Bible was never intended to contain all human knowledge. While Greek mythology has stories about a demigod who makes winds, a Titan who held up the world, and Prometheus giving mortals fire, the Bible has a God who pointedly reminds Job that he isn't going to tell him where weather comes from or what puts the heavens in motion. Instead, "It is God's privilege to conceal things and the king's privilege to discover them."

When science - as opposed to history - gets mentioned in the Bible, it's generally to use something people then knew to illustrate a point about God, not to tell people previously unknown science. Consequently, the Bible does actually mention one of the few microbes the ancients knew about, namely, yeast. But it doesn't tell people where to look for new scientific discoveries.

1) Because GOD did not write the bible.
2) because the bible was written more than 1000 years ago and the people that wrote it had no knowledge whatsoever of MICROBIOLOGY
3)Because he didn't write it (I already said that s***)
4)"The Word Of God" Doesn't mean he wrote it.
They Maybe "His Words", But They Ain't All of His Words Are They?

Where Does It Say in the Bible or On the Cover Or Foreward "by the Best Selling Author: GOD" and Their Aint No Picture Of The Author On The Jacket (Just The Press Rep. - JESUS)

Selnyk is right, there's so many idiots who wouldn't have a clue what it meant. Look at the people that keep posting that the bible says the earth is flat, which it doesn't say, by the way. They say the bible says the earth is square because they don't get the concept of North, South, East & West. If they can't understand simple things like that, how would they understand microbiology?

Dear Southpaw,

The Bible, is God's book to us pertaining to how He wants us to live our lives. The Bible does not claim to answer all questions (why isn't there a section on Radiators, etc.). If you want to know about Radiators (you read an auto book) if you want to know about MicroBio (you read a Micro Bio book) The bible is a book about God's instructions on how to live life and how to have a healthy soul. In fact did you know that our word psychology is a two part word that refers to logy (logos) - study of Psyche (soul), and while psychology seems to be man's answer for the soul- The Bible is God's answer for the soul.

The Bible contains everything that God wants us to know concerning Himself.

Just because atoms are not mentioned in the Bible does not mean that God does not know anything about atoms. Colossians says everything was created through and for Him (Christ), so it is foolish to think that God does not know something because He didn't mention it in the Bible specifically.

Hope that helps,

Nickster

The same reason HE neglected to mention microwave and electricity! Man needed to discover HIS creation with improved abilities as mankind matured; HE did give us Astrology before HE breathed Life into Adam! Botany did not have a name but had a purpose; teach us what not to eat! Prior to 'captain' Noah there were no known Storm patterns that needed noting or they could have drown/froze the witnesses. Remember; no one was even recorded as living on the oceanic shores. Christ is the Word of GOD,Bible is the Blessed scripture inspired of GOD! I hear too many televangels mis- speaking it today!

The Bible is not a science textbook. There are many things left unsaid in the Bible, that doesn't mean it is not God's word. When the Bible was written, humans did not have the scientific knowledge to understand such things. God was doing us a favour by not over complicating things.

The Bible is an instruction manual for a relationship with GOD with a few added "You are HERE" markers. If micro biology had anything to do with your relationship I am sure it would be layed out in detail.

Yeah I didn't get sarcastic! Im growing! Im Growing!

GOD bless ya.

Because God didn't write the Bible. About 45 men did. And they certainly weren't the 45 folks God would have chosen if He had in fact, been in charge of the project!
