Why do you post a question as serious as your child's health on a question and answer board in wich anyone can "claim" to be anything they want to be. They can claim to be a mother who has been there, a nurse who works with children, a doctor, or anything for that matter. They may in fact be nothing more than a stupid 13 year old kid trying to play adult and answering questions they have no knowlege about!!!! When your child is sick CALL THE DOCTOR!!!!!

Hello,

First, I´m sorry that your baby is sick, you sound quite worried. I think it´s great that you ask here, because you will have others that have had similar experience. If you´re like us, you don´t want to run off to the doctor every two minutes, and unless something is really serious, prefer to try to fix it naturally.

We have a 3 month old daughter and also live in Spain, in Madrid. She too, is breastfed, and also was spitting up after every feeding. We found this to be worse on very hot days and not as bad when the weather was slightly cooler (not much this summer!!!). We decided to try a remedy, and it seems to have worked.

First, we found this to be a combination of the heat, and the fact that little Isabel was simply overfeeding...stuffing herself to the point where when we tried to burp her, she would often throw up a bit of the milk. So we tried to not allow her to feed quite so much and rather feed on a more liberal schedule (i.e. eating less during each feeding, but during the day feeding a bit more often). While this was a little less convenient for my wife, it seemed to help the problem a lot.

The second thing we did was to give her a cool bath twice a day to make sure she wasn´t over heated. The last cool bath is at night, before her last (and biggest) feeding of the day.

These two things really cut the problem down.

I would check, though, to make sure your baby isn´t losing weight and not runinng any fevers. If she seems healthy otherwise, try the combination of the two methods we tried. It worked for us. Of course, a call to the pediatrician wouldn´t hurt, but as long as she is gaining weight, seems generally healthy, and doesn´t display any other symptoms, I think it´s likely that she is overheated and overfeeding.

Hope this helps and BEST of luck to you all.

Kindest regards,

JW

There are several things you can try. You could try changing your diet to a very simple plain diet then see if she gets better. then if she does add one thing back into your diet at a time and figure out what is bothering her that way. You could try switching her to formula for a while and see if she gets better that way. Now my baby got very sick where she would throw up every time she ate and while she was eating. My doctor told me that my baby needed to start eating what is called the BRAT diet that she needed something to bind with the milk in her stomach. The BRAT diet is bannanas, rice, apples and toast. So my doctor said start her on the rice ceral for babies for one week then add bannanas the next week and then apples the next week, then toast the next week. The first time I gave my baby the rice she never threw up again. That was all it took was something in her stomach. My daughter was just under 4 months old when this all happened. I don't think that the heat would have much to do with her being sick unless you are keeping her over dressed.

my daughter has been the same since she was born, its not always the particular milk that causes it, cow and gate was just as bad as sma for my baby shes on aptamil now but still sicks. best thing to do is take her to the doctors who can prescribe baby gaviscon which is supposed to help, i have an appointment on thursday to get some as nothing has been done and my daughter is 8 months now. but id say its definately reflux others will suggest lactose-intolerance see what your doctor advises.

You need to keep her upright for atleast 30 minutes after feeding. Do you have a strong let down? She may be getting over full. I had the same problem and it wasn't GERD or something serious. It was just a matter of keeping her upright for atleast 30 minutes.

However, you will want to have her evaluated for GERD, just in case.

It could be Pyloric Stenosis. My son had this and after a small op he was fine. Google Pyloric Stenosis to see if the symptoms are the same.

It could be something that you are eating, she could have been bitten by something or a number of things...I know that when a baby is that young they eat until they are full, so if she still wants to feed she is probably still hungry. Please have her looked at again. Best wishes to you and your baby.

This was happening with my daughter and her son and he was throwing up his milk but instead of it coming out of his mouth it was going into his lungs. Please, take your daughter to a specialist and don't wait. They could be something serious wrong. Good Luck!!!

She may be eating too fast. Let her eat for no more than 2 minutes then burp her until you get one, then let her eat again.
