Because we work so hard to look good and impress men that when we do something like our hair it's nice to be noticed. We notice when guys shave......

I'm not one of them, but I guess it's because the men should be paying attention to them. If they don't notice their women's hairdo, are they noticing the other things their ladies are doing for them?

If the woman gets a trim of about 1/2 to 1 inch, the man probably won't notice. If it's something like chopping 10 inches off, getting a perm, or a radical color change, believe me, it'll get noticed!
Depending on the man, it may not get the reaction you had hoped for.

I guess it's about attention. For me, I want to know that my husband notices me enough to notice something that gets changed about me. Oddly, my hair is about the only thing he notices lol. I have been allowed to walk out of my house and go to work with my shirt inside out, one earing missing, or mismatched earings..or even without finishing my makeup. When I ask him why he let me out that way, he just tells me he doesn't have to notice me. I'm old enough to dress myself lol.
But I honestly think its about attention. Its flattering anyway to have someone notice when you make the effort to fix yourself up. It goes down into an age old need to be pleasing to the opposite sex, and since men are visual creatures, women put a lot of effort into being pleasing visually.

Probably because we do it to make ourselves feel better about ourselves and what makes us feel best is when our man thinks we are "hot" so when we leave the salon feeling "hot" and we see you and you don't notice how "hot" we are then we don't feel so good about ourselves anymore. We just feel like we wasted a bunch of money and time for nothing.
