I have, it takes a bit longer, but be warned not to put your home number on the sheet as you will get loony people that will phone you at anytime of the night and also beware of " a person phoning you and offer you a better price if you hold the car for them and ask if a courier can pick it up" as this is a rip off you won't see your car again.

Sure. I have bought and sold cars this way. You just have to expect your audience to be limited and be prepared to accept the calls or walk up traffic you get. It seems amazing how separated everyone has become from the selling process through the use of the internet.

I sold 2 of my cars with a for sale sign in the window. I parked them at a very busy intersection parking lot by the freeway. Actually sold one same day i parked it for sale.

Yes.
I put the advert In the window of my R reg vectra and I sold it to my neigbours son , and he gave me his renault 19 which I sold to my brother in law, I ended up making an extra £200.
