The hero in 'On The Road' is Jack Kerouac. his books are autobiographical, sal paradise is suppose to be kerouac himself. dean moriarty is neil cassady. they actually did that stuff. he did do it for sustainance while traveling accross the country though... i wouldnt suggest doing it for longer than that and only if you have to.

Probably not - if you saw the tv show 'super size me' the man in that ate nothing else but macdonalds food for 30 days and it almost killed him because of the constant input to his body of the same food and fat content. He was advised to stop by medical experts so i would assume the same thing would happen if you ate apple pie and ice-cream every day. The man in the tv show even damaged his liver! Sure you could. People live off of bugs and tiny portions of rice. Or here in the U.S. there are many families that live off of fast food and candy. Of course, you would be extremely unhealthy, and you'd probably feel like crap.
