my husband is going to be deployed soon and all we know is he is supposed to be going with the 108th. But that is about all of the information that we are getting. I was wondering if anyone out there knows of a delpoyment unit that is 108th getting ready to go? He is a medic, and last we hears he was going to be a line medic, kinda sounds scary. He does not say a whole lot b/c I think he does not want to give me scary things to think about when he is gone. He is very honest when I ask him questions but this is the 1st time I have ever been involved with any kinda military life, so this is alll still very new to me. Plus he can not tell me what he does not know yet. We are pretty sure he is going to Iraq. His Sgt can not find anything out, they R telling him we can not give you that info at this time. My hubby can not even call and get the info. What is that all about? , but all in all his job there is going to B alot harder than mine here. He is going 2 B dealing w/ way more stress!!

If that is all the Information you are being given, then THAT is ALL you need to know! It is on a 'need to know' basis, and as Military Spouses, we don't fall into that. As for the Sgt not able to find anything out, that is pure rubbish! Everyone in the Units that need to know, do....but due to OPSEC they are NOT giving out ANY Information.
Sorry, but that is the way the Military is...or should be at ALL times. Troop movements/R&R/Locations/NAMES of Soldiers...the list goes on, ALL fall under OPSEC in one form or another.....

your best bet is talking with the FRG. Even if anyone knew anything much it might violate OPSEC.

I'd be very careful about what you post on the internet - ask your hubby about OPSEC.

That is something they should put in a handbook for those new to the military life.
