The first two commandments say it all, "Love thy God with all thy heart, mind, and soul." "Love thy neighbor, as thy loveth thyself. " People question the bible, but don't question the news. The bible tells us what will happen if we don't live peacefully and everything that I have read has been proven. There is not a story in my life that can not be explained by the bible. There is no pain that I have felt that could not be read about in the bible. And, there are no promises that have been broken by my God or the bible. I am truly disturbed w/ the things people say regarding religion. But, on that money you love, is written, In God we Trust. If the world trusted and showed belief in him this would be a better place. Cause we all bleed red blood, and were created by a Creator. The religion did not create us. Our Creator did. We are in a place of confusion and he said," The wicked will be pursuing w/ nothing to say and the righteous will not be heard." My Sympathies!!!!

I have read 53 responses and only about 6 are valid? I didn't judge anyone. I actually gave you examples and you are in denial. The funny thing is is that I don't consider myself a Christian but a thankful person for my being. But, the stories in the bible can be relied upon much better than the news we watch. People swear they are open, but the main thing that stays open is there mouth and legs. I have not judged anyone. There are alot of negative people on here and someone needs to go back and read when Jesus was asked what were the two most important commandments of all. Noone needs to judge most people, they show it in their self esteem and the lack of anything worth while to say. Never, in any part of my email did I claim Christianity, who are the real judgemental people? But, you did show your hate for god. Love you all! May God help you as well as me. Ever so thankful!

You claim that you're not being judgmental. You really need to read your question again. The question itself answers the question.Christians are always saying how they don't judge but they do.Nobody's asking for your sympathy or even needs it.So your high and mighty attitude is exactly what makes me despise any religious fanatic.Keep your sympathy to your self with your fairy tale book in which science has disproved so many passages like the Ark etc.And the Catholic church made the mistake of surrendering a tiny piece of the Shroud and it carbon dated over 1000 years after Christ's death.Another lie.But I'm sure you never read this or have some lame cop out excuse for it.And Satan is a big fat myth created by Christians to scare people into joining their religion. That's why everyone has such a huge problem.I don't hate anyone who follows any religion but nobody wants it rammed down their throat.Christians are the reason people act this way. Please read about the crusades and the Inquisition. That's real history.Copernicus was burned at the stake because he claimed the Earth revolved around the sun. That was heresy at the time. It's 100% fact and one of the great minds of his time was killed for being right.Maybe you should examine the atrocities committed in the name of the bible.

Most of these people don't hate the bible, they just don't believe that it is the true word of God/god/goddess.

The ones who do "hate" the bible are often misguided into thinking that the church is the bible...not the interpretation of the bible. Others are just closed minded to the possibility that there may be a God out there and that he is watching them right now.

Personally I love the bible...I love reading it, studying it and talking about it...but I am not a Christian. I do beleive in some of the principles of Christianity, however, I don't believe that Jesus was anymore the son of god then I am the daughter of god...

I'm sure I will get some thumbs down for this one, but I am just trying to answer the question honestly.

By the way I'm a Pagan=)

"Love thy God with all thy heart, mind, and soul." "Love thy neighbor, as thy loveth thyself. "

This is an old testament reference not a new testament or Christian reference. And just because this does appear in the old testament, why are you so arrogant to think that only Jews or Christians find this advice on how we should behave to be valuable? Do only Jews and Christians have a right to this thinking? Do you honestly believe that only Jews and Christians are righteous? Do you see the consummate arrogance in this?

I love my God and my Goddess with all my heart. And I am a very good neighbor. I am not a Jew or Christian but trust me here. If you were in trouble and you were my neighbor, you'd want me in your corner.

Are you talking about the Ten Commandments? Because if so, you're wrong, those aren't the first two commandments. I think you are wrong to call anybody who doesn't believe in your bible "ignorant." I'd imagine you are equally ignorant about the Qu'ran, or Hindu sacred texts, for example. Why are you right and not Muslims? Or Buddhists? I myself am Jewish. I believe in God, but I don't believe in the "new testament." Does that mean I hate the bible, or that I'm ignorant? If you really think that then you need to check your head.

Goood for you. You are one person on an earth covered with BILLIONS of people, but your way is the only right one....my god, I think you just converted me!!!!! NOT!!!

Yes, written on my money is "In God we Trust." And I hate that. I hate that my Govt forces me to spend money with a motto on it that means jack shyte to me. How would you feel if that money read "THERE IS NO GOD." Would you be happy spending it??? Furthermore, are you even aware that this phrase was not put on money until the 1960s???? Thats when they (read" FUNDIES) were attempting to teach creationism in schools, etc. They succeeded in having this placed on money....

So, to answer your question, yes, there really are that many ignorant people on earth - just look at how big your book club is!! Everyone one of you is ignorant, to both the history of your religion, and the history of your book. Everything you have read in the Bible has beeen proven? Really? When did they discover that the earth was flat, and that whales were fish and bats were birds????? Your bible says that too. But you ignore everything that can be proven incorrect, and pay attention only to those passages that can be twisted to justify your views.

Yup, sounds like truth to me......

There are so many "Bible haters" because the majority of people who claim to believe in the Bible do not live by it in their private life. However, the bible shows that truely worship God would do so in spirit and truth. There's a big difference in those who live by the Bible and those who are only actors.

I don't hate the Bible, I just don't agree with most of it. I believe in God but I don't believe in religion. The Bible may have been dictated by God but man wrote it and we all know that people put their own interpretations on things so in my opinion it's not 100% accurate. Also I have a hard time believing that God of the Old Testament condoned multiple wives, concubines, slavery and making women who got raped marry their rapist in order to save their "good name" whereas Jesus of the New Testament tells us that marriage is one man one woman and to be with that one person only. Do you see the contradictions here? Also, why is God of the OT a jealous, fearsome God who punishes those who don't follow Him compared to God of the NT who loves unconditionally and gives us freewill to choose?

I am an atheist, though I was once Christian. In all my life, I have never been happier than I am now. With all my heart, mind, and body, with every ounce of strength I have within my being, I renounce any and all faith in God, whether Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Native, or any other variant of God.

If I am drenched in the blood of your messiah, I wash it off, reject, and renounce it. The blood of a suicidal and insane man who lived 2000 years ago has nothing to do with me.

There is no void in my life, contrary to what many christians say. I do not "secretly know that there is a god" nor do I hate god -- to hate a thing, you must believe it exists. I am emotionally ambivalent to God as he does not exist.

I live a moral and good life, seeking to end pain and promote individual and community well-being. The lack of belief in God has not caused me to lose my moral compass, indeed, in every way it has made me all the more clearly focused on that moral compass.

I reject your religion and all its fairytale stories of heaven, hell, reincarnation, life after death, the ressurection of the many cruicified Gods, among them Odhinn, Mithras, and the Christian Messiah, Yeshua of Nazareth.

I have considered Pascal's Wager and found it wanting. The idea that belief is infinitely rewarding and nonbelief is infinitely punishing can be applied to anyone's view of religion, and therefore is invalid.

I demand proof, nothing less. Show me proof of a god, any god, and I will believe.

Until then, keep your sympathies for yourself, as it is you I pity for your ignorance of facts.

The bible explains cloning? The lunar landings of the Appolo missions? Velcro? Genetic engineering? Molecular biology? Ultra suede? The Flaming Lips band? Marilyn Manson? You must be reading a different bible. Study history in depth, and then decide who is ignorant. BTW: Jesus said to accept all with universal love, or did you not get the memo? You are right - the religion didn't create us, but we created religion. My sympathies to YOU.

I like the bible, don't like the religions.
Jesus was good, but I feel too many people rely on the words of Paul for their religious beliefs.

Christianity should be about Jesus. Everyone else is a sinner and shouldn't be trusted to make doctrine.

How many times does Jesus rebuke his disciples? So why listen to them when there are the words of Jesus?
