I would say not to mix too many of the same subjects. For example study your english first then switch to math then to history, then to science but don't try and combine too many of the same subjects together simultaneously because then you will get them kind of intertwined even though in the grandeur scheme they really all are inter-connected.

With history you don't have to know everthing but in math and science ever detail, concept, and blurb means something.

Leave yourself enough time to do everything and get plenty of exercise, eat right, drink plenty of water, and leave some time for recreation. A young man your age and at your level should also have fun and have friends. Don't be absolutely so worried about a college prepratory class that you blow off a weekend of camping or something like that.

That way while you are studdying and reading and doing homework you are soley doing that and not so worried about your friends or all the stuff you could be doing instead of the extra schooling and eduction responsibilites and requirements you havve now taken upon yourself!

I am a pro on this. Straight A in university, IQ 132. The secret is to study at night, all night long. At night you can absorb 10 times a much compared with the day. Also some tips. Put your formulas in a row and arrange their first letter sequence to be something hilarius. This way you can never forget something hilarius. The minute you get in class take a piece of paper and write down this hilarius words. Then complete from those letters the subjects in question. Something like a crossword game. A genius is something you learn, anyone can be a genius as long as you know how.

Always go over your notes from the day just before bed that night. In this way, the notes are the last thing on your mind and your brain will work to store them during the night. Also, if there is anything in the notes that may be hard to understand later, you can revise them to make them easier to review. Review your notes again the day before the test right before bed so they will be at the top of your mind the next day. This technique, of course, will not help if you do not study at any other times. It is only useful if you are keeping up with the class otherwise.

If you have an extra book like so many students do these days, then you might be able to go through and "glance the subject" kighliting the main points, then you go back after a break and get the suporting material in the paragragh, and outlines are always useful. Also when taking notes, don't use the whole page. save about 2 inches on the margin, either one, and when you finish taking notes, go back and write out the main point beside the paragragh or subject

Pick the time of day you are most alert to study. Sometimes getting up a bit earlier before school is a better time to absorb information then after school. Make sure you study a little bit a day on each subject....DO NOT cram! Get yourself a day planner and plan out study days and times. Also I found it quite effective to study with someone. You bounce ideas off of eachother and usually when you don't know something...they do. Make sure you get plenty of rest and eat properly....food and sleep are fuels for the brain...without giving your body the proper nutrition and sleep you will not be able to get the most out of study. Good luck!

Pay attention in class. Tests usually cover material talked about in class rather than that seen just in the reading.

Don't put things off until the last minute. Cramming doesn't help. But if you study a little bit every day -- you won't need to study more for the exams.

Make sure u attend lectures. Then if you know you have so much to cover, then you may need to use the 70-30 probability method to do your studying. A good example of this method is: if u exams is going to be theorectical...maybe 7 questions to answer 5, then divide the course work in this ratio and concentrate on 5 parts leaving the other 2 parts. In this case you are sure of answering 5 questions satisfactorily. It works like magic...

Total silence always helped me. Also, plan out what material and what times you're going to study particular subjects so that you have a plan of attack. Be organized and diligent, but remember to take breaks, and remember to reward yourself (get through a certain number of pages, or a certain number of subjects, and then go get some ice cream, call a friend, watch TV, etc., for fifteen minutes to a half-hour, and then get back to work.

Learning good study skills now will help you tremendously in high school and college.

Best of luck!

Prepare your study sessions like a professional. Set everything up for total concentration - get whatever supplies, calculators, pencils, etc. together before you waste your time looking of stuff later.
Tackle your studies at a regular time , do some everyday, to stay "in shape at it". Don't work too long at one time, take breaks occasionally to refresh yourself and let your mind sort out the information.
Don't watch TV or listen to loud music (that would take your mind off your study subject).
Good Luck!
