well, first of all, why are you paranoid they are going to be called? cys, which is children and youth in my state, usually will only follow up on cases if they have just cause from the last time. was there other causes to why you were taken from your parents, and given back repeatedly, only to be taken away again? Do you have someone with a grudge who you know will call out of spite? If you are feeding your children well you have nothing to worry about.

It would be very shocking to see CPS take children from an otherwise good home for this reason alone, when there are thousands of children in far worse conditions who should be taken but aren't, because CPS is overwhelmed, overworked, and understaffed. Are you sure that your thin frame was the only reason you were taken from your home?
My suggestion is to get a doctor or maybe even two, to do a thorough physical exam on your daughters and record it on paper that they are healthy and not undernourished. Document things that indicate they are healthy, such as lack of absenteeism at school or daycare, participation in sports, etc.
If you cannot get a doctor to chart them as being healthy, then I'd say you need to reevaluate the cause of their thin-ness - it may not be a simple genetic trait after all. It could be dietary or some medical issue that you should be checked for too.
But without other evidence I find it very hard to believe that CPS would take your daughters, so try not to worry about it.

Well, don't worry if you have a thin child. As long as you have been taking them to the doctor on a regular basis and you have no previous history with cps, you should not have anything to worry about.
Yeah, I have seen it personally, cps will take a kid for being underweight. They will take the kid, then stick a "failure to thrive" label on the child and put him or her in foster care while the parent(s) are made to jump through hoops to get their kids back and prove themselves to be competent parents!
All it takes is for a pro cps doctor to say that they think the child is being negelcted or abused and in steps cps! but in your case, like I said, if the kids have been going to regular doc visits, and their docs had no previous concerns over their weight, then I advise you not to woryy either.

The CPS might investigate IF somebody were to make a report. They would be looking for neglect and "Failure to thrive", which a doctor would have to diagnose. Obviously, you take care of your children, so a doctor would not be able to make this diagnosis. I work indirectly for the CPS, and can tell you, honestly, that they DO NOT WANT to take your children. If they investigate, they want to make sure the child is safe, healthy, and cared for. If your children are safe, healthy, and cared for, the CPS will not be your enemy. Good Luck!

Wow, really?? That's sad you had to go through that. My 15 month old son is also on the skinny side, even though he eats a ton! I wouldn't worry too much... if CPS comes to your home, you will probably have to talk with them and let them know the situation. If they are called again, they will have on file that your children are healthy and fine.

My 9 year old has been skinny since she started walking . And she is very tall . CPS should not bother you if they have no reason to . Take the girls to regular Dr. check-ups . If the Dr. says they are fine Don't Sweat it . I worried about my daughter for years . But the Dr. has always reassured me that she was fine .

Honey, CPS won't come to take your kids unless there is a complaint made to them about abuse. My son is tall and thin and CPS hasn't come knocking on my door. Don't stress about it. Things have changed a lot since you were a kid I'm sure. Just make sure you feed your kids healthy meals, and that they're still gaining weight when they go to their pediatrician. Your girls will be fine. =)

Usually now days, they just come and visit the home if they get enough complaints. If your children are old enough they will ask them questions about their home life. It's really no big deal because it shows them you have nothing to hide about your parenting. Maybe you could contact a nutritionist and ask him or her what you could do to keep your children at an ideal weight for their age and to keep them healthy.

First of all you have rights. Dont assume that you have to open the door just because they say you do.
2nd of all when you have regualr check ups with your child's doc and he or she doesnt see anything wrong either dont worry or get a 2nd opinion.

As long as your house is clean and you have food in the house and the children show no signs of abuse, they generally don't take kids, and certanly not just because they're thin. Heaven knows we need more proportionate body types out there.
Aww did a fatty get offended? *rolls eyes @ the thumbs down* go have a heart attack already.
