As long as the lobster is alive on arrival it is safe to cook and eat. If not alive then toss it out and ask for a refund or a free reorder.

The key is keeping the lobster alive while in transit. If packaged with ice, they can last about a day. Any longer...you should proceed with caution.

I used to deliver them to Red Lobster and they were shipped overnight. So about 12 to 18 hours.
