Go to your vet. He will give the dog one pill that will kill the fleas in 24 hours. or go to petco and get the cream you put it between the dogs collarbone and before the tail. Also you can be given a pill that your dog takes every month called Sentinel it is a flea and heartworm all in one. it is a little pricey... but, worth it.Also, After you have done this then call an exterminater Allcountypestcontrol.com
so he can kill the rest of the fleas in your home.

Give your dog a bath with any kind of flea shampoo. Then apply advantix to the dog and any other pets you have. Also if the fleas were bad you may want to put off flea bombs in your house. It's not as bad as it sounds. The bombs don't smell or leave a residue on anything but they do kill the fleas.

If they are really bad go to a feed store and buy what is called sheep dip. Then maybe buy some frontline or revelution and put it on them unless you have too many dogs and it isn't cost effective. You are still going to address the issue of where all the fleas came from. You may have to bomb your house a couple times and put some flea killer out in your yard or call a pest control business to come out and spray. The sheep dip will kill them instantly but then you will have to do it again in like 5-7 days to kill them again because nothing kills the eggs.

For fleas use Sevin dust and you can get this at any garden supply. It is used for gardens primarily for vegetables but as a farm boy we used it in all the animal beds. it won't hurt them in any way and says on the bag that it safe for animals. If you got fleas then they are not only on the dog but can be in the rugs and in there dog bed etc. You don't need to leave it on carpets but for a day or so but we leave it in the dog beds all the time as a preventive maintenance. Frontline and products such as these are great but are for ticks mostly and is a steroid

Flea bath then treat with advantix or frontline product so that the fleas don't come back. If the dog has fleas you may want to treat your house also, the last thing you want is a flea infested house!

Frontline, Advantix flea drops that you put on their backs once a month. Combined with flea/tick shampoo whenever you bathe them - it should do the trick. If you have more than one pet, ALL NEED TO BE TREATED. If your dogs are indoor dogs, it is also best to vaccuum regularly, wash ANY and all bedding they sleep on.

frontline adn advantix tend to KILL the fleas. Flea collars just make them JUMP off and find a new home, which could be your carpet or YOU.... So use a product that KILLS them, not just repells them
