In Genesis the Bible explains how God created the earth and certain people find it absurd and illogical that God created Adam
with dust and clay. Obviously science explains that all the living things and matter are composed by atoms. The structural organization of humans begins with the atom>molecules>cells>tissues, etc. Obviously on the present time I don't believe that I am made of dust and clay, and I doubt that any Christian believes in that, and if they do believe they think that God made the first human that way, or maybe is a metaphor. My opinion is that God also created atoms and cells that allow life to exist.
If the Bible were more specific with the creation using scientific explanations of how everything was created, would people have more respect and find it more logical? Not only Genesis, also the other books of the Bible as well.
I seriously don't expect atheists telling me YES. I just though of this and wanted to get it out of my mind. They will problaby think t

think the Bible is stupid anyway even if it were sustained by scientific explanations.

Even though the existence of atoms was proven years ago, don't you find it mysterious that we are made of these particules that we can't see even though they are there? Same as God and creation.?

the bible contradicts itself to much to be used as a "proof of creationism".
there are contradictions from the very beginning. in Genesis...if you REALLY pay attention there are TWO creation stories. most likely written by two or more people that were lumped together to make this one book of the bible. this happens through out the bible.
people put this book together..not god, and people are foul-able. hence the contradictions and double talk.
i was raised in a christian household..so i know the bible well. and although i am an Atheist..i love to learn. even about the bible. the stories there in and what not. fairy tales though they may be...they are very interesting IF you break them down.

well, that's the thing. if the bible were scientific, and i actually explained itself scientifically, it would make sense. see, my theory is that the bible was created because people wanted to know how the world was created, and what everything was. since they didn't know, they just made it up, and said it was fact. but now, in this year, it is getting harder and harder to go by religion's rules. humans are making more and more scientific theories and proving them correct, that in my opinion, the bible is becoming irrelevant. sure, it's a great historical thing, but in real life, it just doesn't make sense. everything in the bible is being proven wrong, and people that believe in it are refusing to take that in. i believe that this is religion's last stand.

Your question denies scientific proof. You say if there was scientific proof would you believe the bible, yes of course I would then but contray to intelligent design people and religious people there is no proof one way or the other so I choose to believe in the scientific theory of the creation of man, meaning evolution.

Would an omnipotent being that loves it's creation stand blindly aside when millions of it's believers are placed in cattle cars and sent to their deaths via gas chambers and firing squads? Or does this being cop out of rescuing it's believers by saying that humans have free will.

Try reading stuff about the sumerian texts... call the Enuma elish...Scientist and Theologians are now aware of the Mesopotamian origin of Genesis, the Enuma elish is much more detailed scientifically.

If it got into specifics like how god created things like television, protected left-turn arrows, bar scanners at the supermarket, and belly-button lint, then yes, that would help me believe in the theory.

It's not a question of detail, it's a question of testability. Unless the details gave us a way to test some aspect of creationism, there would be no proof, no evidence, and thus, from atheists, no belief.

No.
Christianity is not the be all and end all (alpha & omega) of philosophy or creationism. Other people in other places have different theories too. Whether it's one purported source of religion or another -the definition of Atheism doesn't change.
