All you can do is watch her at a distance to see what she does next. Hopefully she was in the midst of moving all of the kittens, but you came home and interrupted her.
If she makes no attempt to retrieve the other kitten or take the remaining littermates to the new hiding spot, then it's probably not good news. Nature gives momma animals an inherent sense that tells them when something is wrong with one of their offspring. They will usually push the sick one from the nest or remove it completely from the area, or move the litter and leave it behind. If, you can find the kitten, you can try to put it back with the mom and the rest of the litter. If mom continues to reject it, you will have to start bottle feeding it immediately. You can get all the supplies you need at Petsmart. By the way, kittens require special kitten formula, not regular cow's milk. It's called KMR and is available through your vet or at Petsmart, Petco, etc.
Keep the kitten warm. If you find it and it is chilled, put a towel in the dryer to warm it up then wrap the kitten in it to warm it before you put it back with mom.
Call you vet for advice on what to do next. If you find the kitten and it is obviously ill then either let nature take it's course or take the kitten to the vet for them to euthanize and dipose of properly.
When kittens are about 6 to 8 weeks old and have started doing well with their dry kitten food...PLEASE have your cat spayed so she does not have to go through this ever again.

My cat use to do that as well, we had to wait and watch her to see where she was going too then we found the kitten. Cats like to hide their babies in some weird places. It's not unusual for the mother to do this . this is all natural.

Pay attention to her watch her actions listen for any slight sound especially where the kitten is concerned. Most mother cats will do that especially if that one kitten is sick.Check out every corner ,every room ,closets, bathroom, boxes, look under beds, look in drawers. You'll find this kitten.

I would look everywhere because cats cannot count and might not notice one missing. That happened to my friend and unfortunatly one somehow got in a wall?? and end up trapped and not found until it was too late. If it can cry hopefully u can find it but it will not last long on its own so please look. The other option is that she is in the middle ofmoving the whole nest. If that is the case then your kitten will soon have the rets of thr litter and mommy with her and will be fine. good luck

You've already been told everything you need to know, so I'm not going to give you the same old stuff to read. But I agree with everyone that she's probably trying to move the whole litter (mother cats often move their kittens several times in order to protect them from predators). Hopefully she'll lead you right to the missing kitten, so give her space. Good luck!

If she moved one she is probably going to move them all. Give her some space and let her be a mom. If she is moving them it is probably because she is trying to protect them. She will not just move one and not the others if given the chance. The kitten will cry if it is trapped somewhere.

well secure mom and kittens in a secluded place--we had to put my cat in the bathroom with her babies. then you need to VERY throughly check the house and the yard (if mom cat had access to outside with babies) Check closets, shoes, cupboards, under furnture, even behind the fridge and the oven if you have to

yes you need to look under the couches and beds and check closets...this could be a sign something is wrong with the cat and this is the mothers way of rejecting it...

I agree with the answer about if she moved one she will move the others. If you are concerned, watch her, see where she goes. When the kittens are weaned HAVE THE MOM SPAYED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you keep ANY of the kittens have them SPAYED OR NEUTERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
