Because a lot of those answering these questions are kids with nothing better to do. The rest are adults some out to just have fun and make the 2 points to put them in another level and to tease people or aggravate people and then you get a few serious people.

They are probably trying to get points & figure that quanity is better than quality. It took me a couple weeks to get to level 3. I've got 47 best answers (& working on more) & I go for quality rather than quanity!

Because people are not actually conversing with someone in person, they feel they are not accountable for what they say. Therefore, they can be total wankers without seeing that they have hurt someone.
