I think everyone claiming to believe in god created a god inside their minds that fits their personality and upbringing. Why can't religious people even agree on who god is?

The Western concept of God is not coherent. Becuase of that, god becomes whatever each believer wants him to be.

I've often wondered the same thing. However, people who are religious are not all the same. I can say I'm religious, and not go to church, and someone else can say they're religious, and go to church all the time, but not heed what they're being taught. Also, a Muslim can be religious as well as a Jewish person, but are they the same and going to agree on things? Not necessarily. Just because several people claim to be religious doesn't mean they will agree.

Different faiths can usually offer many optional definitions and explanations for any issue, in contrast to the truth/facts, which offer a single definition/solution.

They are not all the same. The god of Islam is not The God of the Bible. The God of the Bible is unique compared to all other gods.

Because, they don't worship God, they worship gods. God does not fit in your ideal box; but your personal god (what/who you worship other than the Lord God) does.
