I have a well mannered American Staffordshire Terrier that I cannot keep due to losing my home. I don't want to give her up but I have no other options.

Instead of giving her up permanently, find someone to take care of her for awhile until you can take her back. There are people who have foster homes for pets. Check with your local shelter or vet. to see if they know of anybody willing to do that.

Go to www.akc.org, click on 'breeds' then 'breed rescue' & contact the closest American Staffordshire Terrier rescue group for help. Good luck!

Be very careful in puting him in a shelter. Some consider any 'pitbull' breed non adoptable and automatically euthinize them. Check your local BSL on this. Look on the internet for local Bully Breed Rescues and good luck.

No one in your family would take him in?

Here is one rescue:

Google American Staffordshire Rescue and you get several hits. Maybe one of them can assist you.

Good luck.

As a policy, shelters will take them but consider the breed not adoptable and put them to sleep. So you need to find a good friend who will take it. You are risking the friendship if youur friend isn't familar with dogs.

I have the same type of dog and he is the best dog I have ever owned. You could probably find a really good home for your dog. Or you could take her to a shelter that doesn't euthanize thier animals.

you need to look into pitt bull rescues Just type it into your search bar for your area Please do not take him to the shelter he will be put down. They wont even adopt out a pitt bull, rotti etc.

Don`t mention "pit bulls" when you are talking about " staffy taffys", it only confuses the uneducated such as yourself.
