You don't need to join a health club to stay fit. It is quite possible to stay fit without spending much money and without joining any club. Here are some things that worked for my husband and me.
1. Eat three nutritious meals and three snacks everyday. Cut out junk food. You probably need about 1500 to 1800 calories a day.
2. Drink lots of water - at least 8 big glasses a day. Stop drinking soda.
3. Begin a simple weight lifting program at home . Ordinary household items (tins of soup, for example) can serve as weights for beginners. Invest in a sensible weight training book. Any large book store will have several.
4. Buy yourself a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day.
5. Record everything you eat and all your exercise to make sure you have a "calorie deficit". Two of the sites I've included will help you do that.
6. Park at the back of the parking lot instead of close to the door. Always use stairs - never the elevator or escalator.
7. A mini stepper is an easy piece of equipment to have at home and gives great results. I bought mine at a second hand store for $4.
I hope these thoughts help. Good luck with it.

Some advice : you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.
Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Good luck and stick at it.

First it has to be close your home or your work. Ask yourself what is the best time for you to do the exercises? If it's early morning or noon, you can join the one close to your work. Otherwise choose a one close home. Visit as many as clubs you can before you make decision. Majority clubs has sign in fee, so once you signed in it's going to be a cost you leave the club in short period of time. Some gym offers several days trail for free. Take this advantage.
Check their programs, talk with the people who work out there and who work their. Get a program schedule sheet, to see weather or not there are many classes you can participate. Check their trainers to see weather or not they are professional.
You will have a lot of fun when you belong to a gym. You will make friends. You will feel great every time after you work out there.
Good luck.

How to join a health club...
pay them monthly fees, either void cheque or credit card, some places even still take cash...
they give you an ID card sometimes with your picture on it
you go there when they are open
you then work out, sweat lots
then go home
and if you do it a few times a week for the rest of your life
you will be "fit"

Just call around and see which ones offer the best pricing and have the equipment you'll use the most. Be sure and visit them before you go. Also, many places will let you try them out free for a day or a week. try and sign up for one that's no more than 10 minutes from your home... if you have to drive far, you're less likely to go. Here are some ideas:
Curves
Lifetime Fitness
24-hour Fitness
Gold's Gym
YMCA
local rec center

just walk in to any one of them like ballys or your home town gym club or spa and ask to join they will give you an application try to get ones where they have free trial periods you dont pay unless you like it after trial has ended this way it will save you money ,if you pay in advance you are locked into that club for 12 months and if you leave early you risk cancellation fees

Get your checkbook out, go to a health club and sign up. It's as easy as that. In order to stay fit, you have to get in your car and go several times a week. Got it?
