No, I'm not afraid more now than before & I'm probably less afraid because of the education & instruction of Mr. Irwin before he died. He taught me to appreciate many different kinds of animals & he showed me how beautiful nature really is. Any natural environment is dangerous, especially when it's ruled by a species other than your own....and man is still the most lethal predator on the planet.

Considering that I am rarely if ever in a situation where stingrays exist, NO. I have concluded that I will never again do anything dangerous or risky on an intentional basis again. I have small children and they deserve a mom that is as careful with her life as she is with theirs. I loved the guy, but I think he was playing too much to the ratings and often pulled unecessary moves to boost the ratings. It's a terrible shame. I pray for his son and wife, but I'm sure that he left them in a good financial situation. It's just a shame his son won't know his father outside of old re-runs.

I think we should certainly have a respectful fear of them. As I'm sure you learned from your experience, sting rays eject a poisonous toxin from their barb. They say they are just as afraid of us, but it's common sense that we are invading their natural territory and are just protecting themselves when we step on them or get too close to them.

I think the loss of Steve Irwin is tragic. He died doing what he loved doing and he left a true legacy for all of us to treasure. He made a difference and made the world a better place.

No, I'm not. There have been a total of 17 recorded deaths by stingray sting EVER. Not yearly....EVER! He just happened to take the stinger in the chest. Bad spot, bad timing...sucks for Steve. RIP

No, I'm not, it was a freak accident.

It is not the worst pain ever, you have never been in labor!

Or internal bleeding, I actually think that was worse than the labor.

No. Irwin died becuase he was reckless as usual and allowed himself to get too close. Close enough to be stabbed in the heart. It wasnt the sting, it was the stabbing that killed him. I have no intention of being that close to a sting ray!

No, that was a freak accident. Very unfortunate, but not anything for the average person to be in fear of.
