Armenia (Armenian: Հայաստան, Hayastan, Հայք, Hayq), officially the Republic of Armenia, is a landlocked mountainous country in the Southern Caucasus (Transcaucasus), bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran and the Nakhichevan exclave of Azerbaijan to the south. A former republic of the Soviet Union, Armenia is one of the oldest and most historic civilizations in the world, as well as the first nation to adopt Christianity as its official religion. Although Armenia is constitutionally a secular state, the Christian faith plays a major role in both its history and the identification of the Armenian people.

Armenia is currently a member of more than 35 different international organizations including the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the World Trade Organization. It is also an observer member of the Eurasian Economic Community, La Francophonie, and the Non-Aligned Movement. The country is an emerging democracy and because of its strategic location, it lies among both the Russian and American spheres of influence.

Armenia is on Caucausus. Does Mt. Ararat ring a bell for you? It's next to Turkey, and Azerbaijan. There are several Armenian communities all over the world that were created after the Armenian genocide from the Turks. So you can hear the Armenian language in Armenia and in those communities. It has two main variations, it has its own unique alphabet too.

In Armenia. However I also want to comment on this rude person Mourtasa2121 or whatever his nick is, he kees bashing Turks and making untrue remarks everywhere. I am half Italian, half Greek. Lived in Italy, Greece, US and Turkey. Currently residing in Italy. He keeps making false statements. Turks since 1453 have Istanbul and it is a beautiful city. In fact in all honesy for 600 years us Greeks lied under the Turkish rule. However I know from my family that it was a fare and not a cruel ruling at all. We were left free to practice our religion. I alsobeg the differ on Armenian allegations. Obviously the Armenians are coninuing their own genocide to this day against Azeris. there was no country named Armenia until recently. I met very nice Armenian people in Turkey and they also share the same sentiments and have no ill feelings towards the turks. These people are mainly the uneducated ones that live outside of Turkey and believe everything the media feeds them.
My friend, obviously you are a fellowGreek as well. Turks are no different than us, and they are our neighbors. Quit hating people.
