First of all you have to have some red rice and hook that up with some with some huge smoked sausages and green peppers, (make sure you use real tomato paste no ketchup!!) and then get some chicken (fried!! none of the baked stuff next to red rice and well seasoned!!) then after that macaroni and cheese make sure you have Kraft cheese none of the cheap stuff!! and also make sure that the macaroni has cheese and lots of it i don't know why so many people are afraid to have cheese in macaroni and CHEESE( get the picture) and after all of this you want to finish it off with a sweet potato pie and vanilla ice cream. That is the perfect dinner. ( trust me). I know it sounds heavy but you will not need to cook for the next two days.

Quick Broiled Flank Steak with Quick Roasted Veggies

1 1/2 pound flank steak or the smallest one they'll sell you
1 lime, juiced
Coarse salt and cracked black pepper
1/2 bunch broccoli, peeled, cut into florets
1/2 head cauliflower, cut into florets
2 cobs shucked corn, cut into 2-inch slices
sweet potato sliced 1/4" rounds
2 tablespoons olive oil

Preheat oven broiler. Marinate flank steak in lime juice, salt and pepper. Do this right on the paper the steak comes wrapped in for easy clean up. Place on broiler pan and cook, turning once until medium rare, about 4 to 5 minutes per side. Remove to a cutting board to rest.
Preheat oven to 475 degrees F.

Toss broccoli, corn, potatoes and cauliflower with olive oil, salt and pepper, pour onto a cookie sheet in a single layer. Roast, turning once, until tender and cooked through, about 10 to 12 minutes.

Slice flank steak into thin strips, serve 3 to 4 ounces per person with a side of the veggies.

You can also cook this outside on the grill using high heat and covered lid.

the all time best is pot roast. take a chuck roast, brown it on all sides with diced onions and green peppers in oil.i use olive oil. after its browned down, take 1 cup of brewed coffee and a cup of water and set it on to boil gently, the longer the better, add a pinch of basil, rosemary and 1 or 2 bay leaves and when the meat comes apart in strings its done. about 1/2 hr before i figure its done to my taste, i add potatoes, carrots, and onions, celery if you want. carrots i use the little baby ones, potatoes 1"x 1/2" thick. don't be afraid to let it boil down nearly dry several times. you can't tast the coffee and it makes a brown gravy you won't believe. good luck

Texas chili! Use diced beef in place of ground beef, and NO BEANS! That, a nice warm hunk of buttered cornbread and a tall glass of iced tea - that's as close to heaven as this wicked old Mick's ever gonna get!
