If you have that kind of irreverence toward Christ, don't be surprised if you have to wait longer than you already have for your answer. God isn't a genie in a lamp ready to grant your every wish. If you expect instant results like a microwave oven, then you have some growing to do.
God doesn't operate on our time frame. What seems like years to us, may only be days to God. Your prayers aren't answered on YOUR terms and time frame. They are answered on God's. And sometimes the answer is "no".
Have faith, and have patience. I'd also recommend you go and talk to your pastor, priest, or minister on the subject of prayer.
There are also many books out there to help you on your spiritual journey--not the least of which is the Holy Bible. However there are other books written by saints, mystics, theologans, and other devout people.
Sometimes God tests our patience and our faith. Trust in his will, and don't become angry toward him.
Sometimes when we think God isn't hearing us or answering our prayers, he is actually preparing us for the answer. He's paving the way for the prayer to come into fruition. Hold on and trust in the Lord.

It sounds like you were listening on the wrong line! Or perhaps there is a lot of static on your line...or he answered through a different method that you didn't notice. Kind of like the proverbial guy who died on the roof in a flood because he waved away the rescue boats that God sent along because he was waiting for God to do something directly! Also be warned, the Almighty and Son have great senses of humor...

Prayer has three answers, yes, no and wait. Few have the faith or patience to accept the last two answers. Keep listening, patience can only be taught over a period of time.

He might not come when you want him too but he's always ontime. Give him a chance and wait on him. If you want him to prove himself to you. or are you afraid he'll prove him self as real then you'll realise you've been living a lie all your life. Remember its never too late to give your life to God.
