Dog food isn't balanced for cats needs but cat food is fine for dogs.
I don't think that anything else is even a problem in fact lucky you for having a peaceful home.

The only thing you need to watch is that the dog doesnt eat the cat food. Cat food and dogs tummies dont get along to well. Cats dont have a problem with dog food. Other than that whats the problem? Goes to show you that just because they are different doesnt mean they cant get along. To bad us humans havent figured out how to over look differences. Well some have but not enough. My doberman will tear someone up if they mess with his cat and he taught the cat not to mess with my birds.

It is a problem when the cat eats the dog food. The ingredients in dog food can increase the chances of cats getting urinary tract infections. I elevate the cats' food so only they can get it, and keep the cats away while the dogs are eating. As far as sleeping together;;;why not?

If theyre happy just leave them be :) If it bothers you too much try feeding them at different times, feed the cats while the dog is not in the room and then take the cats out of the room and bring the dog in and feed him. Eventually they should get used to eating out of their own bowls.

I dont see the problem. They all get along! There would be a problem if they tried to kill eichother on a daily base. If you are concerned about the food, maybe ask your vet. There should be foor thats good for both. I have at least never heard of a cat that got sick by eating dogs food or vice versa.

Cats can suffer from a severe taurine deficiency if they eat dog food as it does not have taurine added (dogs and humans can make this essential amino acid in their bodies, cats cannot)
Lack of taurine for a cat can lead to blindness and heart failure. So you must make sure that they are getting cat food. Separating their food bowls is essential. Cats don't mind jumping up on counters for their food and most dogs can't get at it if it is up high.

Keep the dogs away from cat food. The nutritional requirements are different and can make a dog sick. Since cats can jump, put the cat food up somewhere high.

Wow, thats wonderful. Its ok, Like someone else said. Make sure your cats have cat food out, so they can get to it. Dog food isnt really good for cats. To much fat in it. Do you feed your dog canned food? Or dry food? Dry food for dogs is better than canned. It helps keep their teeth clean. Most cats wont eat dry dog food. Its too big for their mouths. Hope this helps.

You should be happy they get along so well!! However, cat food is not good for dogs so if your dog is eating cat food, you really should put it out of his reach.

Feed them in separate rooms, that is what I have been doing with my two cats, otherwise one will be left out without their meal for the day while the other just hogs up all of the food.
