I'm glad because kids are in school and off the streets. Yet, I’m not glad because I get to wait behind school buses as they pick kids up in the morning. It doesn't matter if I get up a little bit earlier or if I change my route to work. I always get caught behind a school bus. Only if schools started earlier.

I am, but I am not. When school starts, so do the multitude of illnesses and that means I have to take time off of work, which I do not get paid for. On the other hand, there is no need to rearrange my schedule at work so there is always a parent with them. Childcare costs way too much and then they don't really take care of the kids anyway.

Yes and no. It's good to have some routine again and I can get things done when the kids are at school and enjoy quality time when they're home. But the hols are good since you get to see them in a different light and enjoy seeing their reactions to holidays, trips, new experineces, etc.
Winter hols - not so good! Can't get out the same and cabin fever sets in very quickly!
