It can be. Ask your doctor.
It's like smoking cigarettes. Some people can write on their arms with pen ink for 70 years and have no problems. However, prolonged behavior of this sort will hurt the majority of people that do do this. Just becuase you haven't had problems up till now doesn't mean you won't in the future. It also has to do with the amount of writing you're doing each time. If you're simply writing a phone number or somthing small, then chances are less that you will be harmed. If you are drawing elaborate tatoos, then your chances are greater of becoming harmed...lastly, it depends on the ink you're using. Most pens today have a non-toxic ink in them. Whereas, ink on older pens may be quite toxic to your skin and blood. A lot of factors. I say, either get a proper tatoo or live without marks on your body.
Use your judgement, and even ask you doc!
Good luck!

If someone mixed poison with the ink in your pen, then you'd be in trouble, but apart from that, writing on your hand with ink cannot harm you. That is the absolute outer layer of your skin. Think of it this way: Tattooing goes down 7 layers of skin to leave ink permanently embedded in the skin. If that does not cause blood poisoning your Bic pen is sure not going to!

yes it can over a longish period off time start soaking into the skin and give you ink/blood poisioning, ink has a chemical in it that works like lead and I know of someone dying from lead poisioning at the moment,if it's something you can't stop doing use Indian Ink,this would be more safe as that is the same ink they use for tattoo's because it's safe

I used to do that when I would get bored in high school people told me that too but unless you have an allergic reaction to the ink I don't think it would do anything bad
so scribble on!!!!

If you keep doing that, your skin will melt off and your fingers will turn blue and they will have to quarantine you! J/K, nothing will really happen unless you use a pen form 50 years ago when led was used in everything, same goes for licking/eating paint chips.. ...

I think they're living in the dark ages! Led has been removed from pencils and ink is now non-toxic. I see no harm in using your hand as a notepad. And a very nice notepad it is! What do you call that particular color of nail polish?

I'm not a health expert, but when i get tattoo's the artist usually goes over the tattoo with a ballpoint pen or sharpie, and then sticks me with needles right over it, so im guessing that that is a no.

Ink on the skin will not cause blood/lead poisoning or lead to death. Intense gamma rays will.
