My aunt and uncle in Asia have not seen me for over 9 years and i wanted to send pictures of me over to them via the internet, but i find it so hard to smile nicely for the camera....

naturally, i can smile easily and im smiling all the time - but as soon as the camera is pointed at me, i freeze and the smile wipes off!

Even when i try to smile, it comes out weird, i generally have a nice smile. Any ideas how i can change this habit?!

I get my kids to try to act like they are frowning in front of the camera, for some strange reason after a few seconds they start to smile. Something triggers the brain into making you want to smile. The harder you try to frown the bigger the smile you will give

Here's a fun way. when getting your picture taken jump around go crazy and laugh alot. You WILL find this a great way to relax AND you may find a cool fun picture has been taken.

The camera is not going to eat you. PLUS if it's a digital camera if your not happy with the pic take it again.

Take a deep breath, and just before the shutter on the camera is down, breath out and smile naturally.

Just think how happy you are to send them this picture and then have someone else take the picture. Through their eyes (the one who is taking the picture) they will be sure to get a good one.

Don't look directly into the camera. Look at the photographers head and think of something nice

I get my best smiles when I'm laughing. Have someone there to keep you chuckling when your picture is take, or think of some really funny cartoons!

By the way, love your avatar name!

Take lots and lots of pictures, and then pick the best one. You're bound to smile nicely eventually!

Imagine that you are meeting your Aunt and Uncle as you step out of a cab at their house.

like Chandler on Friends?

try to act natural and pretend the camera isn't there. that should do it I guess. If not, try and get somebody to suprise you with the camera.
