Airplane Crash, WTF a security belt works?

WTF is the purposse when the flight attendant keep you telling... that put your security belt... when you are gonna fly, go as fast as hell.... do you really are going to survice cause a piece of nylon?

It usually won't help if you actually crash, but what if you just come close? Or the pilot pulls it up enough to make a really rough landing in a farmers field?...

If you hit turbulance and get bounced out of your seat, then the plane dives but the pilot could recover... your body slamming through the cockpit door might prevent that...
