The south coast is quite touristy. You´ll find the resorts dominated largely by Europeans, often German, so the beachwear is quite revealing. It would feel a bit odd to be fully covered among them.
There are interesting classical sites along the south coast and on the Aegean coast~in fact you wont be far from such sites anywhere in Turkey.
You might try Fethiye. I went to Side once and it was mobbed and not really that nice.
Turks often go to resorts on the Black sea, but it is much harder to get there, and to the far eastern mediteranean, near Syria.

Hi I am from Turkey. First of all there is no such safety issues in Turkey. We don't turn around and kill Americans or something. Your odds of getting hurt there is less than USA.
Kusadasi is a great place. My mom lives there. Very welcoming. It is no problem to be covered or open in Turkey. People are very understanding. No pressure.
I love EFES which is in Izmir. A lot of history if you are interested in.
Bodrum is great also. It is in Mugla.
I can help you decide, there is too many places to list. You can contact me if you would like.

Kushadasi....I arrived there in 1993 on a cruise ship....I liked the people and felt safe and although I have only been to Istanbul, Izmir before.....and nowhere else in Turkey..I really liked this smaller city and would love to return there....Have anice time...sorry, I cant comment on the beaches and swimwear....but its quite differerent from Greece. Nice to see someone concerned for her modesty....that is rare now.

I went to Bodrum, its next to the sea. It has a brilliant castle, lots of shops and restaurants. Don't worry about what swim wear you wear. Who cares?

I went to Antalya, to Konyaalti beach in July. And it was wonderful! There are many public beaches so many local people come there too, and we saw many muslim women swimming there in clothes.
