the only thing thats going to be painful is the fact that you have to live with it for the rest of your life... how is it going to make you feel when your grand children ask you about the tramp stamp?

Errrrrmmmm... yes!
It feels like someone has inserted a needle just under your skin then dragging it through your skin while left in.
Lower back is more painful than say, your upper arm as there is less 'fatty tissue'. The closer the skin surface to bone, generally means higher the pain! But get one if you really want one, the pain is only temporary, but the tattoo is forever. Just make sure you're really happy with the design and artist and its not just a fashion thing. Last week there was a bloke who had a poem tattooed on his back, only to find there were two spelling mistakes.... DOH!

I have a tat at the base of my spine - wasn't really painful, just stung a bit. I tried to read a book at the same time and read the same line forty times! I have a rubbish pain threshold though, you'll be fine! Make sure you go to a reputable place though.

It feels like someone is drilling a hole into your spine! But if the tattoo is not too big it should only be about 15 minutes of pain.

Any tattoo would hurt, doesn't matter where. Of course some places are more sensitive than others.

yes specially the area around your spine is very sensitive. I have personally never found the pain such a bother. the most annoyings is that you can't scratch or pick the crusts and it itches like hell

i have had a few tatts and i have heard the lower back is quiet painfull but i dont like pain and i have a few now if it is what you realy want but make sure you deffo want it as some ppl dont like them after a short time

It was a little painful, only because you have to lean forward, which pushes your spine out. However, I do not remember it being awful, and I was sober when I got mine....and it is my favorite one! I actually want to add to it!

i have one right at the bottom off my back going right across it Hun i am not going too lye too you yes it hurts but its so worth it when its all done,hey every body's pain is different if it what you want then go for it good luck ....
