My Co-worker says that she looses weight in her feet so much so that she has to throw out her old shoes and buy new ones because her old shoes don't fit. I don't buy it, has anyone ever heard of this?

Looks like i have to add details since I already know if you are loosing weight all over your body you will loose weight in your feet. She has only lost weight in her feet and no where else.

Obviously your co-worker is coo-coo for coacoa puffs and you just be careful honey. I hope your desk is far away from hers. I bet this is the line she feeds her husband so she can buy new shoes!

How many times has this happened to her? Does she wear like a size 4 shoe by now? What will she do if she keeps losing? Will her feet disappear? I am so amused right now! Thanks!

Yes! When I lost a lot of weight, I went from a 9 1/2 shoe to an 8. My feet became narrower and less bloated. It's true!

It is true that your feet can swell. Usually it is just water weight, not actual FAT. Take for example pregnant women. Their feet and ankles can swell and if they swell enough, then it may make some shoes uncomfortable.

Your coworker is probably losing water weight due to healthy changes like drinking more water and avoiding salty foods which are main factors in water rentention. Even if this is the case though, she sounds like she could be exaggerating just a TINY bit.

Yes, when my sister lost 40 lbs a few years ago she also went down a shoe size. I never would have believed it either! But when I lost 120 lbs my feet stayed the same size. Weird!

It's 100% true, if she lost a large amount of weight than it's true. I have heard of people going down a whole shoe size.

yeah. if you lose enough weight, i've heard of shoes becoming looser. i guess the opposite would probably happen if you gained a significant amount of weight. is she losing weight? i wouldn't think one would just keep losing weight in their feet though. and if it varies, why doesn't she keep shoes in various sizes?

yes, it has happened to me as well. Fat is all over your body so of course your feet would not be as wide, and with weight loss, wold also be less swollen due to less stress on them
