I recently started getting what I believe to be abcesses between my legs. They are hard at first, softening after a few days until they eventually pop and discharge nasty puss and deep red blood. I have already had to have two major ones lanced and the doctor told me there was nothing he could do. I was wondering if there was someway to treat them at home, or someway to prevent them from appearing anymore because they cause so much pain and discomfort.

You poor thing! I get them too. They are most common in "big girls" because we sweat and we have skin touching other skin. The best thing to do is use a mild soap like dove or ivory, shower at least once a day (twice is even better), and make sure you towel off and then allow your skin to air dry awhile before getting dressed, avoid constricting clothing, and if you still start to notice one popping up, put a little neosporin on it.

I can help you with this. I had the same thing and they are cysts that begin with an infection of some kind. I had mine(which was on my thigh) lanced and the doctor told me the only way to be sure it wouldn't come back is to have a surgical procedure which consists of cutting open infected area and turning it inside out and removing the cyst. I have yet to have this done but I will soon. Good Luck!

Are they like pimples? Are they on the genitals or on the thighs? If the doc's looked at them and said they were ok and not due to disease, that's good. I'd put a warm washcloth on them to soften them. Also, does it get worse after intercourse or working out or on certain days of your cycle? Be sure to thoroughly cleanse after intercourse and workouts, stuff may be blocking the pores. If this doesn't help enough, maybe you can try getting a bikini wax, since hair may be trapping in more moisture and whatnot (though you may then get ingrown hairs). Try this stuff and see if it works, and maybe even see another doc for suggestions. Hope this helps!

To bring the bumps to a head quicker use icthymol on a large bandage to catch the drainage. It smells bad but my husband uses it at night for the bumps he gets. Those bumps can also be caused by blocked sweat glands.

See a gynacologist to determine that these abcesses are not caused by an STD. Then talk to a dermatologist for advice on how to prevent them. Most likely they are caused by ingrown hairs. Don't shave the area right down to the skin, and keep the area clean and dry.

Exfoliate your skin once a week using a paste of honey and sugar. It's gentle and honey is very moisturizing so it'll help clear your skin. For a really good cream look for Monsia skincare online, its vitamin C and natural stuff which will help a ton with uneven skin and acne scars. They have toner, cleanser, night and day creams. Really good stuff and works like a charm if you use them properly along with good hygiene and a good diet.

They are generally caused by ingrown tiny hairs in an area where rubbing would normally rub them off. Most common causes are the wrong underwear and just a little too much weight in this area which causes it to stay moist. My doctor said no underwear - yeah - and to wash often and lose weight.
