Normal according to whom? I think what we miss out on sometimes is the Iraqi people have their own culture and ideas and they conflict just like ours do. I would hope that one day Iraq will be a peaceful prosperous country that they can all agree to disagree like the rest of us. We can't force our ways of thinking on them though, that's the real tragedy here besides of course all the lost lives and countless billions of dollars we've spent there. Iraq is THEIR country, they ultimately have to decide how they want to live in it.

Normal is a relative term. We have learned from past insurgencies that it takes about 9 years for things to calm down. The "war" in Iraq is essentially done for the American troops. We are now just trying to re-establish order by keeping several rival factions from killing each other. Huge gains have been accomplished in a very short time. Saddam's army was defeated, Uday and Qusay were killed, Saddam himself was captured and is being tried, an interim government was set up, a new government was elected, then a constitution was written. The US is training police an military forces to fight against the die hard radical muslims and former power holding Sunnis and Baathists. This is all being done while Iran and Syria keep instigating trouble.
To answer your question honestly. Iraq is on the bubble. It could descend into a larger civil war or it could work out. We desparately need a democratic friend in the region besides Israel, Afghanistan and Lebanon (weak democracy). Democracies allow minority groups to air their grievances and they also sideline the radical elements because their suggestions don't merit implementation into modern civil governments.

just a decade ago it was Palestinian vs Israel in middle and gulf Asia. now bush made it to reach up to Afghan via Iraq and reach Iran. Saudi Arabian royal families can enjoy whatever they want by USA to get base in Saudi. they simply close down embassy for Israel to show their protests. (don't allow the products of Israel directly and can take via USA). Kuwait already have USA propet. UAE make money out of their neibhour Royal People. Who cares about Iraq ? and Who worries about common people of Iran Or Iraq. (All Iraqis, Iranians will be seen like terrorists by the remaining world.)

No, as long as USA and Mossad is still there
USA should not have attacked Iraq.
The situation now in Iraq is much worse than even Saddam's era.
How come they called it "Operation Iraqi Freedom"?
It should be called "Operation Iraqi Devastation" instead

Id like to think so but most probably not. There are too many underlying conflicts, religious difference, cultural biases and historical feuds to really have a peace there in the foreseeable future.

No I don't , I think they will be fighting for years and years . They will be caught between the terrorists and the West , who want Democracy in our style . That won't work for those people , they need something like Turkey or Egypt .
