It's the hypocrisy and narrow mindedness of ALL religions that I dislike.

To a certain extent, both. While I know a large majority of Christians are good people (or, at very least, okay), there's a number of people who claim to be Christian who do not live up to their religion's standards, but still love to lord their supposed beliefs over others. Religion shouldn't be used as a weapon. The worst of the bunch are the ones who have gotten themselves into power - since that led to some pretty nasty atrocities.
The problem with the religion comes from the fact that there are certain segments of the religion that can be utilized by those who want to use it as a weapon - segments that can be used to justify horrible behavior while under a cloak of being the orders of a "just and loving God." This is especially an issue when God himself states just how loving and just and perfect he is - and then acts in unloving, unjust ways.
If other people want to groove with that, that's okay - but it just doesn't sit well with me.

I cannot say I dislike all Christians, but the majority of them I have met seem to be pretentious and place themselves on a pedestal. It appears just because you attend church, you are a better person than others. I always thought attending church was to make yourself a better person and more tolerant of others with the end goal of peace and harmony on earth. Instead what I see is a very judgmental group who feel because they attend church, they are now free to pass judgment on others who do not believe the same. Instead of being tolerant and trying to improve society with kindness, you get criticism for they way you live your life even if you are a good person.
I do believe in God, its the bible I have problems believing in. There is too much that has been changed and left out that it is not much more than a twisted fairy tale being used to control the masses by ignorance. How much money is the church worth? And is money really important to GOD? Or is how you carry yourself as a human being the important issue?

My main issue with Christianity as a philosophy is that for you to "need" it as a solution, you have to accept its first tenet, that you are inherently flawed and need salvation. If you start by rejecting original sin, then there's no need to be "saved" by anything.
Of course, this forgoes the initial discussion of whether there even is a god, and everything deriving from that.
Christians are just people, and like all people, there are a number of good and bad ones, doing both wonderful and horrible things on a daily basis. The directive to convert others is occasionally irritating, but given the range of directives in that book, there are a lot more harmful ones followers could choose as their standard.
I try to seperate the few odious people who use Christianity as their shield and cloak from the religion itself, even though I don't believe in it, as that could lead to tarring a lot of people with a very broad brush.

Wow Brenda snagged the number 1 spot!
You will find that all people are born evil and in natural opposition to the Word which is the truth.
After you make your peace with the Bible, you might have better doctrines than other Christians and other Christians might not even understand your beliefs. How many Christians interpret the Word like Joseph and Daniel? Not many.

I used to be a Christian. I was raised believing in the Bible etc. I joined a Christain homeschool group and I did not like any of the people there. I found them judgemental (although the Bible says not to judge), haughty, self-righous, and so on. I am sure that all Christains are not like this. It seems to me that the religion that they claim to hold so dear has been tainted by their actions.

Both, The religion teaches lies, and the people believe them. I used to be Christian until I learned the truth. Now I hold a grudge on what they did to me. I also hold a grudge on what they did to the witches, yes, I know I should get over it, but sometimes, you cant just forgive and forget. Thats some reasons why I hate them both, for more, look at my qs and answers....
Blessed be!!!!

A. You seem to not know enough about Christianity to make a resonable judgement. It's wrong how many newsreports and people say all the bad things about good things so they seem completely bad.
B. Now you go sterotyping. There are bad Christians in the world. There are good Christians in the world. Please learn how to judge people for who they are. Their personality and stuff like that.
