Santa Claus - all of us be responsive to that this is a tale. while there's a extensive volume of information that God exists - this is only as much as the guy to notwithstanding if or not they desire to take it into attention. Eg - there's a logical verse interior the Bible that states - (Hebrews 3:4) . . .of direction, each and every house is built via somebody, yet he that built all issues is God. no person disputes the reality that a house has to have an architect, builder, materials, wisdom etc. Who might say that it coincidentally over the years shaped into an inhabitable place? Nature has tens of millions of examples that an architect, builder and information have been in touch. as quickly because it is typical then the life of Jesus isn't a project. he's God's son who got here to handle this mess that mankind is in. Why are we waiting so long? there is an answer to this question that may not be in a position to be responded right here interior the area given. Many are atheists using fact they're ill of the suffering and injustice it is all around us. while a guy or woman shows out the clarification why it is this way and that our author isn't the reason for all of it then it is greater ordinary to believe.

I follow the Bible but not literally. I think some of the stories are meant to be uplifting. I think some stories are meant to break stereotype (Esther, a WOMAN!, saves a nation-back then women were chattle). Jesus used a lot of parables so he was fond of using stories to convey truths. I think the old testament law is written because humans could never do enough to please God and that's one way we know, by looking at this list of rules just about anybody would find too restrictive and ridiculous.

Some things I believe are true literally though. When it says "And such and such King ruled twenty and four years and then went to sleep among his fathers." I take that literally because historically many of these kings are mentioned and can be accounted for during those time periods mentioned.

Santa Clause is also real. Not in the ho, ho, ho sense, but St. Nicklaus is a real person who really did leave people, particularly children, gifts.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to answer this question because I'm a Christian so I'm sorry about that.

The Bible is just a man-made play script, with several actors God, Devil, Jesus, Satan, Adam, Eve etc, and of course some intriguing imaginary places like Heaven, Hell, Purgatory and Limbo.

I certainly don’t believe in the Bible and I doubt any reasonably intelligent person would either. However, if you view the Bible as a man-made play script, with several actors God, Devil, Jesus, Satan, Adam, Eve, Noah, and so on, then you can certainly start to see a clever interwoven plot, that the audience is unaware of. It’s really just a drama thriller with clever twists.

You see, if you seriously think about it in an unbiased manner, then clearly the actor God in the Bible could really be the Devil, and the audience (religious believers) are being sucked into being the bad guys, who then use religion to get everyone fighting each other.

On the other hand, the more intelligent audience (Atheists) spot the plot and try their best to teach believers that this is just nonsense, stop getting sucked in. Some people have over time decided that the play is real. That's very sad.

Bit of a closed question... "fiction or lie" - it does seem to indicate what sort of answer you expect! But assuming you meant "truth or fiction":-

God: the Jury is out. I say God is an invention of Man because it helps Man feel secure in a Universe he is unable to control. Others strongly believe in God and I respect that belief as long as they are prepared to respect my non-belief

Jesus: Almost certainly did exist, whether or not you believe the "Son of God" stuff. A good man who preached kindness and forgiveness in an age when both were in short supply.

Santa Claus: Based on fact

The Bible: It exists, therefore it is a fact. Whether it was written by men or by God controlling the hand of Men is another matter. But if it's God's work, why have four differing accounts of the life of Jesus? Couldn't God make up his mind how to write the biography of his own son?

The Great Flood: Almost certainly occurred - as the sea level rose at the end of the last Ice Age the low-lying area which is now the Black Sea was flooded. Recent research has shown indications of settlements on the sea bed. Whether there was a Noah and an Ark is still open to question although some say there is a large wooden boat-like object preserved in the ice at the top of a mountain in Turkey...

Satan: If you believe in God (see above) then I guess you believe in Satan. There's as much (or as little) evidence for the actual existence of one as the other

I don't believe they were meant to be lies, in the sense that they thought it up purposely to deceive people. But a great majority of it is Fiction... ancient stories for an ancient people. Though, I do have to say that the Bible has a few good teachings (treat others as you want to be treated). But other than that, I view it as no different than Pagan stories about Zeus or Isis, etc...
