I think it depends on how they are raised. If a kitten is never given the chance to use its natural skills, it won't be as adept at catching them. We used to overfeed our kitten so she'd always have food in her bowl and not bother us with it. But she started to get fat and lazy so now we restrict how much she eats a day and because of that she's lean again. She now actually has more energy and she's taking down insects that get into the house, something she never cared to do but now that she knows she can't eat whenever she wants, her survival instincts have kicked in. She's a lean mean bug killing machine!

either cats are nature hunters but a female cat is most likely to go after the mouse(mice) faster male cats are usually lazy not unlike the males of the human species

The sex doesn't have as much to do with it as does the nature of the cat itself. Some cats are lazy and uninterested in catching mice if they're being properly fed. Others are very active and can't resist catching squiggly rodents.

I have three cats, two males and one female, and my second male cat has been the only mouse catcher in my house so far. I am not saying that my other two cannot do it, but my Dubby has caught five mice, one bird, one unknown (it was decomposing) and one rabbit so far... we think that he may have caught more, but we have yet to find all of his kills. Rest assured that your cat can and eventually will catch it's prey. It is in a cats nature to kill. That is what cats are.

I also have a colony of sixteen cats. And my own decision are woman cats. they look cleanser than the adult males, yet some could be a touch prissy the place the adult males are extremely greater stunning. only constantly bear in concepts each and each cat has a distinctive character, so consistent with danger you will get a male and a woman!!! sturdy success!!!

Not sure, I would think that it would be female because they are the main supply of food for kittens, but either one does catch mice.

Female! You, too, don't have to worry about a female spraying all over like you do with a male cat when he's in heat!

Female they will hunt even if they'r not hungry.
Male cat's are lazy when they get hungry they'r more likely to steel another cat's food than to catch it's own.
