You have to tell him straight. I'm not saying you do this, but alot of people will keep a connection there because they know that can have a bit of a flirt or be made to feel good whenever they want with just with a call or txt message. This will only make him think he has a chance. You have to tell him straight that it's over, also you should probably stop all contact.

the key to getting rid of anyone that is somewhat infatuated/obsessed is avoid saying or doing that suggests that there is a chance of consumating the relationship. So, in the case of your ex-boyfriend he will be of the conviction that you were with eachother before, so he will think it is not unreasonable that you could be together again. If you don't like him anymore, you could just tell him that, its cruel but effective. If you say things that are ambiguous or present problems that can be solved he will always try to solve these problems or "change".
This problem is always a balancing act between discouragment him and not hurting or embarrassing him too much. The best advice is probably take it one step at a time and eventually he should get the message finally. Best of luck!

I had the same problem when I was younger. Tell him in no uncertain terms that your relationship is over, you will NEVER date him again and that you don't want to be friends. If you are still in school it may be difficult for you to completely avoid him. If he refuses to leave you alone and you are in school, you need to speak to your principal, if that doesn't help then you should go to the police. If you are older, and not in school r are in college you should go directly to the police.

Remember though that the restraining order does not protect you from someone who is willing to break the law, be sure you are always safe!
Good luck

Blessed Be!

Hi Jessica,

It sounds as if this guy, is simply not understanding that your not going out?

Hes not giving you cause to worry about your safety, is he?

In which case, you should tell his friends, and family, if possible that he's not your Boyfriend, if he wont see sence then you will have to humiliate him into it

He will surely stop saying you and him are going out if everyone knows hes lying right?

This guy doesnt sound scary, he sounds pathetic,

If you are scared though tell someone, who cares about you, and they will help you out,

If hes just a pest, then swat him :) tell everyone you know that hes not your bf, he will eventually be peer pressured into dropping the fantasy

Good Luck........

First you have to ask yourself, have I made it PERFECTLY clear that it's over?

If you really want to get rid of him, change your phone number, don't accept his calls, don't go out with him. If he is stalking you, call the police.

Usually women who have a hard time getting rid of their ex's are giving them reason to keep coming around. Just be straight with him, if he's "normal" he'll go away, otherwise you'll have to do the above steps.

Good luck!

Obviously he is a little slow and can't take a hint. So just let him drag his feet and waste his life chasing the non existent and go on with your own life. Just ignore him and if you have to a little upfront then so be it

Get a new one!! What do you mean he still thinks you go out with him? Have you still been sleeping together? That always give off the wrong impresion. Or is he jus deluded?

Here is what you do..

Move ahead with your interests in life and join another group that reflects that. Make sure that you are out and away when he comes to the door too.

Tell him to go to hell that you have moved on. Women need to be more assertive and aggressive or men think that they can push women around. Just cause we are women doesn't mean we have to be weak. Tell him to take your hint and take a hike.
