How many lbs does a person normally lose when fasting and exercising for a few days? I'm not thinking about doing it but I am just curious.

Actually, you wouldn't see much of a change in body weight if all you did was just fast. Your metabalism will slow down to compensate for the lower intake of fat and calories. Your body will always burn a minimum number of calories to support life itself, that number depends on your active life style. If a person who is inactive were to sit at rest for 24hrs, that person would only burn 1100 or so calories, this burn comes from your body supporting your brain, lungs, heart, and other organs. A more active person would burn somewhere around 1400-1600 calories in a 24hr rest period due to there higher metabolic rate

It depends on a lot of things. How much you excercise, how much muscle mass you have (more muscle means higher metabolism), how many days you fast. keep in mind that if you eat nothing you will lose muscle as well as fat even if you excercise because your body will have no protein to repair muscle tissue. I would say about 2 lbs a day would be a high limit of fat loss although WEIGHT loss might be higher due to loss of water and waste.
