I prefer "What is the moral thing to do?" But, yes, I have asked myself what Jesus would do in a given situation. Like Thomas Jefferson, I don't believe in the divinity of Jesus. I'm not even convinced that there was an historical Jesus, but assuming that there was, I think some of what Christian literature says he stood for is worthy of emulation. That said, I certainly don't follow his example blindly. I think it's folly to follow anything on blind faith alone.

What would Jesus do:
Get himself hung on a cross for trying to start a cult, how is that supposed to help me.

Sure. When I was 15. And now I know that although he was the 'only begotten son', he was also just a man. He made mistakes too. And probably second guessed his decisions. So it doesn't really matter what he would do or would have done.

I have - and I have met many christians who don't seem to. I mean, when you are faced with issues like religious intolerance, racism, and war, I think Jesus would act much differently than many of the christians I meet.
Peace!

No. I usually ask myself, 'What would Kate do', or 'What would my mother say' or 'can I afford that' or 'red wine or white' or 'paper or plastic' or 'am I late for work AGAIN'?
Really, I have too many other things to worry about than what Jesus would or would not do in a given situation.

Many times. Asking myself that always sets me back to being the best person I can be in any given situation. It's when I don't bother to ask myself such a thing that I slip backwards.

Can't see the point. If Jesus really was God incarnate, he has abilities and knowledge I just don't have access to, so his example is not relevant as a basis for my actions.

I have.
And then I realized that Jesus is so much more advanced than I am and understood that I could never possibly know what Jesus would do.
Good question.
