what brand has these, I heard only the SLR did? I want a digital, cause I take tons of pictures of my grandkids and I would like to make 11x14 portraits of some of the pictures like I did with my old camera. I would rather spend money on makeing a 11x14 portrait than on 5 rolls of film and get maybe 20 pictures I like. Would appreaciate any advice, Thank You, in advance.

the only pocket size camera with that much zoom that i know about is the Kodak V610 camera with dual lens technology. they cost around $350 and up though, but they are really cool.

If you want compact, Nikon S4 or S10 are the only ones with a 10X zoom. You are going to have to go a little more bulky for more zoom than that. These cameras don't rate as highly as a canon and after seeing pictures form both, I see why. My sister has the S4 and I used it before I decided to buy the Canon A620. It's compact, but not so small you can't handle it. Takes great pictures. The models with high zoom are more bulky, not something you can carry around as easily. There are several nice models of thos including the Sony one. Never tried those since my wife wanted one to carry in her purse. I plan on buying a digital SLR for ultimate zoom.

hard to find a really compact camera with that much zoom, since the smaller cameras just don't have enough lens to do it.

you don't have to go the full SLR route, though, as there are some slightly smaller than an SLR camera that meet those specs (Kodak EasyShare Z612 is one) interestingly, most of these cameras look like slightly smaller SLR cameras. :)

i visit actually pass for the Ixus. i have used many compact cameras in the course of the perfect 10 years (both deepest and as a interest operating with them) and that i have continually ended up recommending a Canon Ixus even as pals have requested me for suggestion. they don't destroy quite, the picture high quality is staggering, and they have strong controls. they're good, merely positioned.

Canon S3 IS fits your specifications. My daughter has the S2 and loves it. The S3 is just the newer version with 6 MP.
