Cats are a bit like young children - if you are doing things that do not leave a free hand to stroke or play with them, then they will want the attention. Cats like be the centre of attention if you are busy on the computer they are not the centre of attention. I have never heard of computers giving off something that attracts cats - although someone may prove me wrong? I have two cats and when I am on the computer they bother me lots although I wouldn't call it torture, however they also do this when I am reading, cooking, sewing, folding washing etc.... - hope this helps!

One of my cats likes to sit on my lap when I am using the computer. The others like to parade back and forth in front of the screen if they think they want some food or attention at that moment. It is annoying as I want to finish what I am doing and they sure know how to interrupt me!
They do the same thing when I am reading a book.

I have no idea why they do this either. I have 2 cats and they do the same thing. I think its the whoel idea of crawling up on the desk and laying in front of the monitir that does it for me kitties. But on occasion they like to chase the cursor on the screen. They are funny little animals.

Attention girl.....I had cats that would do the same thing. Now have 3 doxies who love to sit in my lap while I'm on line, if I will let them. It's funny. If I wont let them they will sit on their little butts and beg for attention.

Cats are extremely curious creatures.
He and his mum just want to know what is so darned interesting about that machine that takes up so much of your time.
If it is a problem to you, just close the door to keep them out of your room and work in peace or take a break and play.

When you play with a piece of string the cat goes crazy, when you are typing away with your fingers it's the same thing he just wants to play with you which is sweet, all of this or else you got a cat as your wallpaper and it's one fine feline.

My cat does the same thing too, infact he is doing it right now. Anytime I am doing anytype of paper work or comper work he always feels like he needs to "help". I've just learned to deal with it. I've tried to push him away but no luck, he jumps right back up there. I guess I'll have to deal with my furry helper!
